Biffle Finishes Fourth in Duel #2; Starts Eighth in Daytona 500

Biffle raced his way to a top-10 starting position for the Daytona 500 with a fourth-place finish in the second Duel Thursday night.  Biffle started sixth in the No. 16 Ortho Ford and dodged three cautions and a red flag to earn a fourth-place finish.  The finish sets Biffle up eighth for the Daytona 500 on Sunday afternoon.

“I felt good about my chances right there,” said Biffle.  “I was so confident coming to take the green that I was going to have a chance at winning that thing or be dicing it out with those guys.  We’ve got a few days to work on this thing and try to find a little bit more speed.  We’ll keep working on it.”

The field for the Duels is determined based on qualifying and with Biffle’s 14th-place qualifying effort he lined up sixth in the second Duel race.  Duel one set the inside row for the Daytona 500, while Duel two set the outside row.

Biffle was holding his ground in the top 10 before getting hung out on the top, losing some track position before the first caution of the night.  Biffle pitted under caution for his only pit stop of the 60-lap race, receiving four tires, fuel and a chassis adjustment.

A massive second caution led to a red flag delay for cleanup and the third caution of the evening set the field up for a green-white-checkered finish.  Biffle crossed the finish line fourth in the No. 16 Ortho Ford.  The finish sets him up eighth for the Daytona 500.
