The Bommarito Automotive Group 500 didn’t disappoint Saturday at World-Wide Technology Raceway outside of St. Louis. The event, featuring a red-flag period of two hours and nine minutes, was eventually won by Josef Newgarden.

As a result, Newgarden picks up his 25th career NTT IndyCar Series victory and 46th podium finish.

David Malukas picked up his first career NTT IndyCar Series podium finish in Saturday’s event. Malukas started 12th on the leaderboard and led 12 circuits in the race. He finished 0.4708 seconds behind Newgarden.

The event had an elapsed time of 2 hours, 10 minutes and 40 seconds. 

Two cautions slowed the event with the first coming out on lap 145 in turn four involving the 45 of Jack Harvey. The field later went back green on lap 157 with Will Power leading.

The second yellow of the race came out on lap 214 as rain arrived resulting in a red flag period. The field went back green on lap 224 with 36 laps to go.

Graham Rahal led the final practice session on Friday for the NTT IndyCar Series at World-Wide Technology Raceway. Rahal, starting 16th on the starting grid in the race, led the session with a lap of 25.3196 seconds / 177.728 mph.

The Ohio native with six career victories goes into the weekend looking to score his first podium finish of the season. 

Scott Dixon sat runner-up sitting 0.0384 seconds behind the final practice leader. Dixon, sitting six points back of points leader Will Power, posted a 25.3580s / 177.459 mph. The native of New Zealand enters Gateway with two wins and three podium finishes in 14 events.

David Malukas sat third when the session ended in the No. 18 Honda machine. Malukas will start 12th in the race.

Romain Grosjean and Alex Palou rounded out the top five.

Pole winner Will Power, after tying Mario Andretti for all-time career IndyCar poles, ended the session 17th on the speed chart. 

The Bommarito Automotive Group 500 will take place at 6:00 p.m. ET. live on USA and IndyCar Radio.

Will Power scored the pole for Saturday’s Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at World-Wide Technology Raceway on Friday with a two-lap average speed of 182.727 mph. Power scores his fourth pole of the season and ties Mario Andretti with 67 all-time career pole starts in IndyCar.

2022 Indianapolis 500 winner Marcus Ericsson will start second on the grid in Saturday’s event. Ericsson, chasing his fourth career victory, had a two-lap average speed of 182.070 mph in the session.

Josef Newgarden rounded out the top three in qualifying with an average speed of 181.629 mph. The winner of four races in 2022 enters the St. Louis facility with an average finish of 9.1.

Scott McLaughlin and Alex Palou rounded out the top five qualifiers.

Streets of Nashville winner and runner-up in points Scott Dixon will start sixth.

Felix Rosenqvist was the only driver that did not finish the session due to a crash off of turn two. Rosenqvist’s No. 7 machine wiggled and spun around making slight contact with the inside tire barrier. He was later checked and released from the care center. 

The Bommarito Automotive Group 500 will air live on USA and IndyCar Radio Network at 6:00 p.m. ET.

The NTT IndyCar Series turned laps for practice on Friday at World-Wide Technology Raceway ahead of Saturday’s Bommarito Automotive Group 500. A total of 26 drivers entered the event and all 26 entries participated in the one-hour on-track session.

Will Power led the speed chart in the opening session with a lap of 24.925 / 180.539 mph. The driver from Australia and series points leader enters the weekend chasing his second victory of the year. 

Power has seven podium finishes through 14 events in 2022 and goes into the track outside of St. Louis holding an average finish of 6.4.

Alex Palou sat 0.046 seconds behind Power on the speed chart Friday with a fast time of 24.971s / 180.208 mph. The native of Spain with five podium finishes and winner of three races in 2021 enters the race this weekend looking for his first victory of 2022. 

Felix Rosenqvist rounded out the top three fastest on the speed chart in practice one on Friday. Rosenqvist, with two poles and a podium finish this year, posted a 24.991s / 180.065 mph.

Scott McLaughlin and Marcus Ericsson rounded out the top five on the speed chart.

Streets of Nashville winner Scott Dixon sat 10th on the practice chart. Dixon enters the weekend sitting six points behind point leader Will Power. 

Qualifying will take place at 4:15p ET. and can be seen on Peacock.

The NASCAR Pinty’s Series went dirt track racing for the first time at Ohsweken Speedway on Tuesday, an event won by Treyten Lapcevich in a last-lap overtime battle with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular Stewart Friesen. 

Lapcevich started fifth and led the field for 53 circuits en route to his second career victory in the series and second of the year. The 18-year-old from Grimsby, ON, scored his first career victory in the season opener at Sunset Speedway back in May.

“It was an awesome night. I’m happy we were able to get it done,” said Lapcevich after the race on FloRacing. “With all those restarts I was getting a little nervous as it’s not easy having Stewart Friesen on your heels.”

Lapcevich also praised Ohsweken Speedway and owner Glenn Styres for the event put on Tuesday. The track has two years left on its three-year agreement with the NASCAR Pinty’s Series.

“I also just gotta say a big thank you to Glenn Styres and Ohsweken Speedway for making this happen!” said the race winner after finishing his victory interview with television. “I think most of the series was leery when we heard we were going on dirt, but this was a blast, and can’t wait to do it for the years to come!”

Camping World Truck Series regular Stewart Friesen battled Lapcevich on the final lap, even clearing Lapcevich in turn three for the lead before Lapcevich re-took the top spot in four. Friesen takes home the second spot sitting 0.219 seconds behind the winner in his Pinty’s debut.

“It was awesome for team 22,” said Friesen. “He (laughing) did everything he needed to do and probably a little bit more but it is what it is. I knew if I could just control his exit a little bit off of two and off of four we could inch ahead. We were until he crossed me up and it was what it was. Wild finish. Pretty cool to have an awesome finish here!”

Jake Sheridan finishes third behind the wheel of the No. 64 Chevrolet in a car that was supposed to be driven by NASCAR Cup Series regular Christopher Bell. Bell couldn’t make the trip to Canada due to travel issues. 

Sheridan, also making his Pinty’s series debut, started 10th.

Pole sitter Marc-Antoine Camirand, who led 48 of the 101 completed laps in the overtime event, and Alex Tagliani rounded out the top five finishers.

D.J. Kennington, Andrew Ranger, Ken Schrader, Gary Klutt, and Brandon Watson took home top 10 finishes.

Camirand and Kennington are tied in the driver points standings leaving the event. Lapcevich, Tagliani and Lacroix hold down the top five in the standings through 10 events.

The race featured 11 cautions and had an elapsed time of 1hr, 33 minutes, and 54 seconds.

The next event for the NASCAR Pinty’s Series will be at Circuit Icar on August 27th.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series tackled Richmond Raceway on Saturday for the Worldwide Express 250. The event started with Ty Majeski on the pole and ended with Chandler Smith celebrating in victory lane.

Scoring his third victory of the season, Smith, one of 12 playoff drivers, led 176 of the 250 laps en route to his third win of the season. He’ll leave Richmond with five career wins and 12 top 10 finishes.

Celebrating the win, Smith dedicated the victory to his new son and wife watching back at home.

“God is so good. I’m a Daddy now. My wife had such an amazing labor and delivery. We have an amazing and beautiful baby boy at home, said Smith. “Honey, this is for you and Jr. this is for you as well.”

John Hunter Nemechek sat 2.790 seconds behind Smith when the checkered flag fell. Nemechek, who is also a playoff driver, leaves the track with eight top-five and 13 top 10s this season with a win at Darlington. 

“We didn’t adjust quite like we needed to from day to night. Partly on me so I’ll take that one. Overall, solid day for our Safeway Toyota Tundra TRD Pro,” said Nemechek. “Can’t complain about that, just one spot short. It’s good to be disappointed when you have a run like that with second, second and second. Really good points day, let’s go advance to the next round. Only thing that matters is getting to the final four in Phoenix to compete for a championship,” he added.

Pole sitter Ty Majeski rounded out the top three finishers at Richmond on Saturday. Majeski led the field for 73 circuits in his No. 66 Toyota.

Despite fighting hard Saturday, Majeski feels like they’ll have to run up front at Kansas to advance into the next round.

“We really fought hard, but we really don’t have much to show for it,” said Majeski. “We don’t have much to lose at Kansas now. I know it’s only six points, but I feel like it’s going to take running up front and a win to make it happen.”

He’ll go into Kansas Speedway next month still looking to snag his first career victory.

Grant Enfinger and Corey Heim take home top fives.

The rest of the top 10 included Taylor Gray, Matt Crafton, Christian Eckes, Zane Smith, and Carson Hocevar.

Stewart Friesen (finishing 11th) and Ben Rhodes (finishing 18th and two laps down) were the only two playoff drivers to finish outside the top 10.

The Worldwide Express 250 had only one cation outside of the two scheduled stage breaks. The yellow flew on lap 216 for a two-truck incident in turn one that involved Nick Leitz and Carson Hocevar. Leitz day was done while Hocevar continued.

The series will head next to Kansas Speedway for the Wise Power 200 on September 9th. The event will air live on FS1 and MRN Radio.

The ARCA Menards Series invaded the Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park for the Reese’s 200 on Friday. When all 200 laps of the Reese’s 200 were complete, Chandler Smith was left celebrating in victory lane.

Smith started the night third behind the wheel of the No. 15 QuickTie / ChargeMe Toyota and led 111 circuits. The Georgia driver scored his 10th career ARCA victory with the win.

Sammy Smith sat 1.213 seconds behind the winner. Smith, one of four drivers with the last name Smith in the field, started the event on the pole and led 89 of the other laps. He’ll leave the track with six top-five and six top-10 finishes in just seven starts in ARCA’s main division in 2022.

Taylor Gray picks up his sixth top five with a third-place finish.

Daniel Dye and Connor Mosack rounded out the top five.

Taking home top 10s were Jesse Love, Nick Sanchez, Rajah Caruth, Dylan Smith (who made his ARCA debut), and Greg Van Alst.

There were two leaders and two lead changes throughout the Reese’s 200. It had six cautions that included a brief red flag period. 

The next race for the series will be at Michigan International Speedway on August 6th.

The ARCA Menards Series tackled the “Tricky-Triangle” on Friday at Pocono Raceway for the General Tire Delivers 200. The event, with 28 entries in the field, was cut 16-laps short due to darkness approaching. Taylor Gray, overcoming a penalty earlier in the event, led 38 laps to win the event.

Gray will take home his third career ARCA Menards Series victory, his third of the season. The driver from North Carolina has five top-five and top-10 finishes in six ARCA starts this season.

Nick Sanchez started fifth after the field was set by practice speeds as storms cut the one and only practice session scheduled short. Finishing second, Sanchez leaves the track with his third top-five and seventh top-10 finish.

Brandon Jones takes home the third spot following a sixth-place start.

ARCA Menards Series points leader Rajah Caruth and Daniel Dye rounded out the top five finishers.

Connor Mosack, Jake Finch, Kris Wright, Jason Kitzmiller, and Toni Breidinger rounded out the top 10. 

Six caution flags slowed the field including a 14-minute and 29-second red flag period. 

Ed Pompa, Amber Balcaen, Sean Corr, Andy Jankowiak, Christian Rose, D.L. Wilson, Zachary Tinkle, Bryan Dauzat and Alex Clubb had DNFs. 

The General Tire Delivers 200 had four leaders and eight lead changes.

For the first time since Stafford Speedway in 2016, Jimmy Blewett visited victory lane at Wall Stadium Speedway on Saturday. Blewett, starting second on the grid, didn’t appear to be a factor until late into the Jersey Shore 150.

“These guys prepared such a good car. Just ride, by their time, watching these guys burn it up, so we had some stuff there at the end,” described Blewett after taking the checkered on FloRacing. “I wanna dedicate this win to my grandfather as he never ever doubts me.”

The driver picks up his seventh career victory and has 32 top-five and 57 career top-10s.

Matt Hirschman leaves with the runner-up position by placing 1.910 seconds behind the race winner. Hirschman started the event 10th on the leaderboard and quickly worked his way to around the fifth position in the No. 60 machine. He’ll leave Wall Stadium Speedway scoring his fourth top-five of the season in just four starts. 

“They (Blewett) were gonna be tough tonight,” said Hirschman on FloRacing. “Before the race, I had no idea really what to do with my car, or what I’d have,” he added in regards to the tires. 

Third-place starter Patrick Emerling rounded out the top three finishers. 

“It was a little rough out there, but I had a lot of fun tonight!” said Emerling after the race. “We had a pretty good racecar for running here only once before. We got some really good notes and I’m happy.”

Andrew Krause and Ron Silk, who had the strongest cars entering the event and led the majority of the race, rounded out the top five. 

Justin Bonsignore, Austin Beers, Jon McKennedy, Blake Barney, and Kyle Bonsignore rounded out the top 10.

Four cautions slowed the event with one of those involving multiple cars on a restart on lap 70. The rest of the yellows impacted Matthew Kimball, Blake Barney and Ed McCarthy in turn two on lap 123, and Eric Goodale on lap 133 on the frontstretch. 

The next race for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will be at New Hampshire Speedway on July 16th for the Whelen 100. The event will air live on FloRacing.

Jake Drew claimed his third career ARCA Menards Series West victory on Saturday at Irwindale Speedway. Drew, making his 15th career start in the series at the half-mile oval outside of Los Angeles, goes to victory lane for the third race in a row.

Leading the overtime event wire-to-wire, Drew leaves the track with his 10th career top-five and 13th career top-10 finish. 

Cole Moore sat 0.458 seconds behind the winner and pole-sitter Jake Drew in the No. 99 Toyota to finish second. Moore started the event third before claiming his third top-five and top-10 finish of the season.

Huddleston finishes third after an intense night in his No. 50 Ford and takes home his first top-five of the season in only his third start of the year. In his two previous races, Huddleston scored finishes in the top 10.

Kyle Keller and Landen Lewis rounded out the top five.

Taking home top 10s were Jake Finch, Tanner Reif, Sebastian Arias, Amber Slagle, and Todd Souza.

The caution flag was displayed seven times in the event – including one that resulted in roughly a 13-minute red-flag period.

Second-place starter Paul Pedroncelli Jr. brought the third yellow out on lap 73 in turns three and four. The yellow also sent the race into the scheduled race break at lap 75 early. 

The next significant yellow at lap 121 involved Takuma Koga, Christian Rose and Nick Joanides in turns three and four, resulting in roughly a 13-minute red flag for clean-up.

On lap 145 with five to go, Todd Souza, Joey Iest, and Eric Rhead tangled in turns one and two to send the race into ARCA Overtime. The No. 11 of Chris Lowden barely avoided the 66 machine of Rhead stopped sideways.

The series heads to Evergreen Speedway on August 20th
