David Stremme to Drive No. 70 at Richmond International Raceway

For the first time since November of 2008, South Bend, Indiana’s David Stremme found himself behind the wheel of a Nationwide race car.

Last week, Indiana-based ML Motorsports announced that the former NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year would pilot the No. 70 Foretravel Chevrolet Impala at Nashville Superspeedway.

The effort was a season-best for the ML Motorsports bettering a 22nd place performance in the season-opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway with Shelby Howard at the helm. More importantly though, Stremme’s performance moved the team into the 30th position in the car owner standings guaranteeing them a starting berth in the next race at Richmond International Raceway Friday night.

Stremme will once again drive the No. 70 Foretravel Chevrolet in the Bubba Burger 250 this weekend at Richmond International Raceway. In his last two starts at Richmond International Raceway, Stremme posted finishes of 6th and 9th, with an average finish of 14.6 in eight starts at the historic short track.

For Stremme, he is scheduled to run in both the Nationwide Series and debut his Inception Motorsports team in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at RIR.
