Wallace Takes 12th At Tennessee Track

RAB Racing with Brack Maggard and Kenny Wallace found their rhythm in “Music City” last weekend as the team started and finished inside the top-12 as Wallace piloted the No. 09 TRX Alliance Toyota Camry  to a 12th place finish in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) Nashville 300 held at Nashville Superspeedway last weekend.

Heading into the eighth event on the Nationwide Series schedule, Wallace and the RAB Racing team were focused on having a solid run. Wallace posted speeds fast enough for two top-20 positions in both of the scheduled NNS practices on Friday at the 1.333 D-shaped oval track. After the qualifying session was complete on Saturday morning prior to the afternoon event, Wallace picked up several spots from practice, laying down laps quick enough to earn the 11th spot on the starting grid.

Taking the green flag from just outside of the top-10 for the 300-mile event, Wallace held his position inside the top-15 for the first half of the race. Wallace lost a lap midway through the race, but quickly regained a position on the lead lap by earning the “Lucky Dog Award” on the lap 151 restart after the fourth of six race cautions throughout the race.

Running solidly inside the top-14 during the closing laps, Wallace made two late race passes before the checkered flag to secure the 12th finishing spot. The finish marks the sixth time Wallace and RAB Racing have brought home a finish inside the top-20 during the 2011 Nationwide Series season. Wallace currently resides ninth in the NNS driver point standings.
