NXS: Justin Allgaier Wins OneMain Financial 200 in Thrilling Fashion

Justin Allgaier took his No. 7 SiteOne Landscape Supply Chevrolet to victory lane on Saturday at Dover International Speedway in a thrilling finish between he and teammate Elliott Sadler. Allgaier, driving a JR Motorsports Chevrolet, scored his sixth career NASCAR XFINITY Series win and will receive an extra $100,000 in the Dash4Cash program.

Allgaier led the final 68 laps of the OneMain Financial 200 at Dover International Speedway enroute to victory lane. Sadler made a move for the lead on the final lap and couldn’t make the move stick to steal the checkered flag from Allgaier. After making slight contact with Allgaier and the outside wall, Sadler will leave the one-mile oval with a runner-up finish.

Allgaier will go into a two-week vacation for the NASCAR XFINITY Series with six top five and seven top 10 finishes through 10 races.

As for Sadler, finishing 0.306 seconds behind the race winner, he’ll leave Dover with eight top five and 10 top 10 finishes this season.

Daniel Hemric rounded out the top three finishers in Saturday’s OneMain Financial 200. Hemric, after starting fifth on the leaderboard, finished fourth in stage one and sat sixth in stage two.

The North Carolina native piloting the No. 21 South Point Hotel & Casino Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing holds an average finish of 11.5 through 10 races in 2018. He also has four top five and six top 10 finishes.

Christopher Bell and Tyler Reddick rounded out the top five finishers.

Johnny Sauter made his first NASCAR XFINITY Series start since 2014 at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday. Sauter replaced Spencer Gallagher after being indefinitely suspended for violating NASCAR’s substance abuse policy in the week leading up.

The driver finished 13th in stage one and sat 19th at the end of stage two. Sauter and the No. 23 team eventually worked their way through the field to leave with a sixth-place finish.\

Brandon Jones started on the pole and saw the lead two different times throughout the running of the race. Jones, driving the No. 19 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, took his XYO Networks Toyota to a finish of 10th.

The NASCAR XFINITY Series will return to action at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 26. The Alsco 300 will air live on FOX Sports 1 and MRN radio at 1:00 p.m. ET.
