Dover International Speedway Lives up to Its “Monster Mile” Moniker for Austin Dillon and the Rheem Team in Saturday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series Race

“Usually, when you unload from the truck fast it sets up your entire weekend for success. We didn’t unload fast this weekend and it showed. This race was an all-around struggle. We never got control of the handling and ended up getting off-sequence on pit strategy to try and stay on the lead lap. It didn’t work, unfortunately. We’ll regroup and try to get a win for this Rheem team next week at Charlotte Motor Speedway, a track I’ve had a lot of success at.”

Blown Tire on White-Flag Lap Spoils Top-10 Run for Ty Dillon and the Bass Pro Shops Team in Dover

“My team unloaded a fast Bass Pro Shops Chevy yesterday for practice. We were fifth in first practice and sixth in final practice. Matt (Swiderski, crew cheif) worked hard on the setup this weekend, and we were definitely more competitive from the jump than we were here in the spring. Once we got into traffic to start the race, though, it was incredibly difficult to handle the new bodies. I was way too loose anytime someone was on the outside of me. My team made adjustments during the first break, and we started to find our speed in the second stage. We got even faster in the third stage and got up as high as seventh. It’s unfortunate that I blew a right-front tire on the last lap because we would have finished in the top 10. Today was definitely a learning day for us with the new bodies. We will take these notes to get ahead of the game in the future.”

Daniel Hemric Fights to Fourth-Place Finish in Race 2 of XFINITY Series Playoffs in Blue Gate Bank Chevrolet

“We’ve got a great set of guys on this Blue Gate Bank team. We keep the faith in each other and never give up. We were not very good to start the weekend off and we worked on this thing to make it better in today’s race. I’m dedicated to these guys that work on these race cars here at the track and build them back at the shop. We never stopped working, and that’s what this run was all about today at Dover. I’m proud of these guys. I’m proud of the effort. We’ll go on from here and see what we can do at Charlotte next week.”

Lap 6 Incident Ends Brandon Jones and the Anderson’s Maple Syrup Team’s Day Early at the Monster Mile

“I was really looking forward to running our No. 33 Anderson’s Maple Syrup Chevrolet today.  I knew we could have a solid run starting from the 15th position, but once again bad luck got us way too early in the race.  A couple of us were really close together getting into the corner of Turn 4.  The aero package just got us and spun me around.  I wanted to keep running even though we had damage, but unfortunately my day had to stop.  I hate this happened, but want to thank Anderson’s for joining us this weekend, and earlier this year.”

Solid Run at Dover International Speedway Produces Top-10 Finish for Brendan Gaughan & the South Point Hotel and Casino Team

“During the middle stage of the race the South Point Hotel and Casino Chevy got really loose. It was really good at the start of the race and we didn’t make any changes and then the track freed up. The last run was track position. Had we not lost so much during the second run, we would have gotten ourselves a better finish. Great job by all the boys. We come out of here and gained on the points situation. We are just two points outside the cut line. Two points, that’s nothing. We’ll just keep ourselves cool, gain two more points and then some and head to the Round of 8.”
