RCR NXS Post Race Report – Menards 250

“We were so close. We had a fast Richmond/Menards Chevrolet today. The handling was just a little bit off which made the car too loose in the opening laps. Danny (Stockman, crew chief) and the guys made good changes on pit road. We adjusted a little too far so had to dial it back after the car got too tight. We were right there all day and overall I was happy with our Chevy. It’s always fun to race with this team and I’m looking forward to my next race with them in Indy.”

“We had a good Rheem Camaro today and we were able to race inside the top five; I was pretty happy with the adjustments that Nick (Harrison, crew chief) made to the race car between qualifying and the race. I felt in qualifying we were a little off, but we got it right for the race. Unfortunately, towards the end of the race we just didn’t have enough to move inside the top 10. I lost air conditioning early on in the race and it made for a long, hot day inside the race car. We’ll be better next weekend in Iowa.”

“For our rookie year, I think having seven top-10 finishes in the first 13 races is a pretty good start. I think we have a little bit of work to do for when we come back to Michigan, but overall it was a really solid weekend. Our Nexteer Automotive Chevrolet was just tight all day long. It got worse as we ran and it was hard to keep up with the track as it changed throughout the day. With only a few cautions we didn’t have a lot of chances to work on the car. I think we’ll be better when we come back and I’m looking forward to Iowa next weekend.”
