Brandon Jones ready to race at Pocono Raceway

Brandon Jones returns to the ARCA Racing Series this weekend at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway driving the No. 8 Messina Wildlife Management / Menards Chevrolet for Ranier Racing with MDM. Looking to gain additional seat time at the track nicknamed “The Tricky Triangle,” Jones is pulling double duty while racing in both the ARCA Racing Series and NASCAR XFINITY Series events this weekend.

“I’m really happy that we’re pulling double duty this weekend,” said Jones. “It was a little hectic with the back-to-back practices today, but I really think that extra seat time will help us for the XFINITY race. There are a lot of Sprint Cup Series drivers that we’ll be competing against on Saturday afternoon, and they race twice here every year. Even if I only get an extra 200-300 miles on the track through the ARCA race, every little bit of experience that I can get before that green flag, will help.”

Jones, who hadn’t turned a lap at the 2.5-mile Pocono Raceway prior to Tuesday’s ARCA Racing Series test session, is utilizing every opportunity to get on track. The two-time ARCA Racing Series winner finished fifth in the open test, and placed second during the opening practice and eighth in final practice.

“The more time I spend on the track at Pocono Raceway, the more I like this place,” said Jones. “It’s a really fun course-it actually races a little bit like a road course, but instead of turning right and left, we’re only turning left. We’ve been fast all week with our Messina Wildlife Management / Menards Chevrolet; I’m really looking forward to the race.”

The ARCA Racing Series is set to take the green flag for the General Tire #AnywhereIsPossible200 on Friday, June 3 at 5:45 p.m. ET. FS1 will have a live broadcast of the event.
