Blake Koch Rookie of The Race at Lucas Oil Raceway

West Palm Beach, FL native Blake Koch continued his impressive run for the Rookie of the Year title this weekend at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis.  Blake persevered all race long with an ill-handling race car to bring home another top-20 finish for the MacDonald Motorsports team.  In doing so, Blake earned his 7th Sunoco Rookie of the Race award this season and closed the gap even more in the Rookie of the Year chase.

The team brought a new paint scheme to the race track this weekend with K-Love radio on the car as the primary sponsor and Daystar.com as an associate sponsor.  Blake once again learned a new race track quickly and practiced his K-Love No. 81 Dodge in 23rd position.  He matched that performance in qualifying and would start the Kroger 200 on the inside of the 12th row.

When the race began it was obvious it was going to be a long night for Blake and the MacDonald Motorsports team.  The K-Love No. 81 was chattering the tires and very tight in the center of the corner.  Even with the ill-handling car, Blake drove with experience well beyond his years and didn’t put a scratch on his race car.  The team worked hard all night long to make the car the best it could be for Blake and he drove to a solid 20th place result.  This earned Blake his 7th Rookie of the Race award and another $1,000 bonus from Sunoco.
