NNS: Bayne Earns U.S. Cellular 250 Pole

Trevor Bayne captured the pole this afternoon at the Iowa Speedway after posting a fast time of 23.558 seconds, 133.713 mph. Today’s pole marked the seventh of his Nationwide Series career. Saturday will mark the eighth time during this season that he has started from inside the top-10.

Rolling off in the second spot, and had the pole until nearly the last second, will be Brad Keselowski. Keselowski posted a fast time of 23.577 seconds, 133.605 mph. to earn his sixth top-10 start this season. He also will start his fourth race at the Iowa Speedway inside the top 10. He was just 0.019 seconds off of the pole.

Starting in the third spot will be Regan Smith after posting a fast time in the final round of 23.612 seconds, 133.407 mph. This will mark his fourth top-10 start at the Iowa Speedway, and his 13th in 20 attemps. Smith will be the highest Dash 4 Cash driver to start in the race this evening. Smith was 0.054 seconds off of the pole sitters time.

There were no on-track incidents during the two rounds of qualifying. Chris Buescher was the highest rookie in qualifying and will start from the ninth position.
