Earnhardt ready to tackle Iowa

Jeffrey Earnhardt, who has been wrestling with a shoulder injury for the past several weeks, plans to go full bore this weekend at Iowa Speedway.

Earnhardt will be driving the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller No. 4 Chevrolet in Saturday’s U.S. Cellular 250, the second Nationwide race of the year at Iowa.

In May, Earnhardt finished 23rd in the Get To Know Newton 250 at Iowa.

“We’ve been looking over our notes from May, and we’re looking to make improvements at Iowa this time around,” Earnhardt said. “It’s a neat place to race because it’s a short track (.875-mile) with big-track characteristics. It’s the kind of place where we can do well.”

Earnhardt is 18th in series points entering the Iowa race, the 20th of the 33-race season.
