Hattori Racing Enterprises to make fourth Nationwide start at Daytona

Hattori Racing Enterprises (HRE) will be making their fourth start in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this coming weekend at Daytona International Speedway once again with Johnny Sauter behind the wheel of the No.80 Toyota sponsored Toyota Camry.  Johnny will be making his third start with Hattori Racing Enterprises.

Sauter is no stranger to the Nationwide Series. Prior to joining HRE, Sauter started his Nationwide Series career as well as his Sprint Cup Series career (in 2004) with famed car owner Richard Childress and Richard Childress Racing back in 2002. Sauter then later joined Clarence Brewer for the 2004-2005 seasons, before going to James Finch for the

2005 season.  From 2006 to 2008 Sauter drove for Gene Haas in both Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series. During the 2009

Season Sauter started his Camping World Truck Series career with Thor Sport and has been with Mike Curb and the organization ever since, and is currently leading the Camping World Truck Series points standings. Sauter has an impressive record with 25 starts across all three of NASCAR’s elite series at Daytona International Speedway. While he has yet to capture a checkered flag at Daytona in the Nationwide series, he won (just last year) in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series opener at Daytona with ThorSport.

HRE History:  Hattori Racing Enterprises was founded in 2009 by Shigeaki Hattori, to give young drivers a chance to develop their talents and gain experience in quality equipment with a skilled and knowledgeable tea.

A championship driver himself, Hattori earned the Formula Toyota title in Japan in 1994 he then latter moved to the United Stated in 1995, where he competed in the Indy Racing League’s Indy Lights and IndyCar Series. Hattori also raced in the Toyota Atlantic Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
