Cassill scores fourth straight top 15

Landon Cassill drove a solid race and finished 13th in Friday night’s John R. Elliott Hero Campaign 300 Nationwide Series race at Kentucky Speedway.

The run is Cassill’s fourth straight top-15 finish and kept him 10th in the Nationwide driver point standings. He is only 19 points out of eighth place.

“It was another good run for us tonight,” said Cassill, who drove the Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over Chevrolet for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller. “The guys keep giving me solid cars, and we’ve been able to stay out of trouble and come home with good finishes. It’s been fun.”

Cassill raced as high as sixth place and was threatening to break into the top 10 over the final 40 laps.

Sprint Cup star Kevin Harvick won the race.

The series moves on to Daytona International Speedway for a July 4 race, celebrating the nation’s birthday.
