Cassill challenges Road America

Landon Cassill gets another shot – and a much better one, he hopes – at the Road America road course this week.

Cassill participated in last year’s Nationwide Series race at the four-mile course, but he got in only seven laps before parking with engine problems. He finished 39th.

“I didn’t really have time to get into any sort of rhythm there last year before we had to go to the garage,” Cassill said. “It’s a fun track to drive. I’m looking to be out there from start to finish this year, and with a good car.”

Cassill, who drives the G&K Services Chevrolet, is 11th in Nationwide driver points and hopes to return to the top 10 with a strong finish in Saturday’s Gardner Denver 200 at the 14-turn track.
