Cassill racing against the best at MIS

The field for Saturday’s Ollie’s Bargain Outlet 250 Nationwide Series race at Michigan International Speedway will be more competitive than normal.

Entered in the 125-lap race on the MIS two-mile course, beyond the Nationwide regulars, are Sprint Cup drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr. Kyle Busch, Joey Logano and Kyle Larson.

It’s an extra challenge for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller driver Landon Cassill, a Nationwide regular who has put together a fine first half of the season.

“Everybody likes to drive at Michigan, so it’s no surprise we’re going to be racing against some of the best Cup drivers there,” said Cassill, who’ll be driving the No. 01 Flex Seal Chevrolet at MIS. “It makes it tougher to get a strong finish, but it’s always fun to race against the best.”

Cassill sits in 11th in driver points entering the 13th race of the Nationwide season.
