Cassill scores 14th at Dover

Landon Cassill rallied in the second half of the race and came home 14th in Saturday’s Buckle Up 200 Nationwide Series event at Dover International Speedway.

Cassill started 13th – he almost made the final round of knockout qualifying – but fell back to 25th at lap 120 of 200. He bounced back over the closing portion of the race, reaching 16th place by lap 160 and 14th at the checkered flag. He was the first driver one lap down.

Over the past six Nationwide races, Cassill has five finishes in the top 14. He gained one position in points Saturday to 11th.

“It was a good day,” said Cassill, who drove the Meding’s Seafood/Iron Source Chevrolet. “We got a little behind there early, but everybody worked together, and we were able to get a top-15 finish.”
