Cassill finds trouble at Charlotte

An electrical issue in the closing portion of the race dropped Landon Cassill to a 30th-place finish in Saturday’s History 300 Nationwide Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Cassill, who ran in the top 15 much of the race and was 16th with 10 laps to go, fell through the pack after the electrical problem caused alternator issues.

“We had a really good car,” Cassill said. “Should have had a top-15 finish. Just had bad luck there near the end.”

Cassill raced as high as eighth on what was another strong day for the Flex Seal Chevrolet team.

Cassill fell from 10th to 12th in Nationwide driver points.

Twenty-one-year-old Kyle Larson won the race, leading 82 of the 200 laps.

The series returns to action this weekend at Dover, Del.
