Billy Boat Motorsports and rookie driver Chad Boat head to Talladega Superspeedway for the third career start for both driver and team in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Boat will once again be behind the wheel of the No. 84 Chevrolet for the running of the Aaron’s 312 this Saturday at the 2.66-mile Alabama track.
“I am really looking forward to racing this weekend at Talladega,” said Chad Boat. “I have never raced there but did some testing a few years ago in an ARCA car at the track. We had a pretty good run at Daytona before we ran into a little late race trouble. The guys on this BBM team have built a strong car and it showed in Daytona and I am sure it will again this week. We need to get in a strong qualifying run and try to stay up front and out of trouble all day and if we can do that we will have a strong finish to be proud of.”
Boat competed in the season opening race in Daytona where he finished a respectable 24th after racing inside the top-15 the majority of the race. He made his second career NNS start earlier this month in Texas where he piloted the No. 84 RedFest Chevrolet to 31st place finish after a late race accident.
“I am proud of all of the guys on this BBM team,” added Billy Boat, team owner of Billy Boat Motorsports. “We continue to build and grow our race team and Chad is progressing well as a young driver. Daytona was a big learning step for Chad and the team and that will definitely help us this week in Talladega.”
