Ragan to Make 100th Nationwide Start with Biagi-DenBeste at Daytona

David Ragan, a race winner in NASCAR’s Sprint Cup and Nationwide series, will make his return to Nationwide racing with Biagi-DenBeste Racing in the DRIVE4COPD 300 Feb. 22 at Daytona International Speedway.  Making his 100th career Nationwide start, Ragan will drive the No. 98 Curb Records Ford at a track where he has visited Victory Lane.

In eight seasons in the Nationwide series, Ragan has earned two wins and two poles, and 16 top-five and 46 top-10 finishes.  The 28-year-old driver also has two wins in his eight-year Sprint Cup career, including a victory at the Daytona Beach superspeedway.

The driver will be on track for the team during the two-day test at Daytona this weekend to prepare for the season-opening race.

“We are very excited to have David, a three-time superspeedway race winner, in the car for Daytona,” said team co-owner Fred Biagi. “This will be a great beginning for our 2014 season. We know David will help us in the evolution of our race program and we look forward to working with him.”

Ragan is eager to return to the Nationwide series and looks forward to helping Biagi-DenBeste grow its program.

“This is a pretty solid team with good equipment and a pretty good crew chief in Jon Hanson,” Ragan said.  “We’ll learn a ton this weekend during the test so we can bring a race-winning car back here next month.  I’m grateful to Fred Biagi and Bill DenBeste for the opportunity.  We’re going to have some fun.”

The DRIVE4COPD 300 airs live on ESPN Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. ET.
