NNS: Bowman Wins Pole in Texas

Alex Bowman captured his second career NASCAR Nationwide Series pole today at the Texas Motor Speedway with a fast lap of 29.002 seconds, 186.194 mph. Bowman’s last pole in the series came right here at the Texas Motor Speedway in April. Today will mark his 13th time this year where he will roll off in the top-10. He goes into this weekend still looking for his first Nationwide Series win.

Brad Keselowski will roll off in the second spot for today’s race after running a lap time of 29.035 seconds, 185.982 mph. Keselowski will make his 14th start in the 2013 Nationwide Series season to try and take back the owner points lead with two races remaining after today. He was just 0.033 seconds off of pole sitter Bowman.

Sam Hornish, Jr. found himself third on the speed chart with a lap of 29.082 seconds, 185.682 mph. Hornish also needs a solid finish to get around points leader Austin Dillon for the championship. This will be his 25th top-10 start this year.

Points leader Austin Dillon posted the fifth spot in the qualifying session with a fast time of 29.239 seconds, 184.685 mph. He goes into today’s race with a eight point lead over Sam Hornish, Jr.
