Mike Wallace Has A Solid Finish At Chicagoland Speedway

The JD Motorsports No. 01 Cowboys and Aliens Chevrolet Impala finished 16th in Joliet, I.L. thanks to hard work and a great car.

The team brought back the chassis that debuted in Charlotte on Memorial Day weekend. When the car was unloaded this weekend it was fast, but as the weekend progressed, the team found even more speed. Mike Wallace started in the 22nd position, but he was able to fight his way to the front and finish 16th.

“This was the second race for our brand new chassis,” Team Owner Johnny Davis said. “We changed a lot of the setup aspects of the car and got it running to Mike’s liking. We are very pleased with its second appearance on the track, and we will continue to make improvements.”

The team also had the support of an associate sponsor this weekend. The Chicago based company, Gerber Collision & Glass partnered with the team for the second year in a row for their Chicagoland Speedway efforts.

“We were very honored to have Gerber Collision & Glass return for our Chicagoland efforts,” Tony Priscaro VP of Marketing and Sales said. “We also look forward to partnering with them in the near future if the opportunity arises.”

On Saturday, June 18, the team will visit the Michigan International Speedway for the Alliance Truck Parts 250. Last year, Mike Wallace captured a top 20 finish at the speedway. Whether the race weekend is an all-out shootout to the finish or a fuel mileage race, JD Motorsports will be up to the challenge. The race will be aired live on ABC at 3:30 p.m.
