Wallace Earns Top-20 at Charlotte

Veteran driver Kenny Wallace and the RAB Racing with Brack Maggard team earned their sixth consecutive top-20 finish of the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series season in Saturday’s Top Gear 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Taking the checkered flag in the 20th position, Wallace earned his 11th top-20 finish in 13 events in 2011.

Starting from the 21st position in the No. 09 Family Farmers Toyota Camry after an early morning qualifying session, Wallace and Crew Chief Scott Zipadelli worked to get the car in favorable handling condition for the 300-mile event. When the first caution flag flew on lap 27, Wallace was recorded in the 22nd position.

Midway through the race, Wallace had the No. 09 Family Farmers Toyota Camry solidly inside the top-16. Pitting for a late race caution, the No. 09 team was given a pit road violation which resulted in a pass through penalty for Wallace, and the loss of one lap to the race leader. Ultimately, Wallace would survive the five race cautions to end the day in the 20th position. Wallace currently sits seventh in the driver point standings. The No. 09 remains in 13th in the NASCAR Nationwide Series car owner standings.
