Justin Allgaier NNS Preview: Daytona International Speedway

Sunshine State…Justin Allgaier will make his tenth start at Daytona International Speedway (DIS). This weekend marks the final superspeedway race of the season for the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS). In Allgaier’s February DIS race earlier this season he qualified 14th and finished seventh. He has three top-10 and one top-5 finish in his four July starts at the famed 2.5-mile superspeedway.

Welcome Aboard…For the first time this season, Allgaier’s No. 31 Chevrolet Camaro will sport the colors of TradeMark Nitrogen. TradeMark Nitrogen is a Tampa, Fla. based company celebrating their 30th anniversary of selling and distributing bulk commodities for industrial and agriculture customers throughout the United States.  They are open for business 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year in order to facilitate customer schedules and needs. DASH 4 CASH…This weekend’s race at DIS will serve as the Qualifier for the Dash 4 Cash race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on July 13. The top-four finishers in the Subway Firecracker 250 running for NNS championship driver points are eligible for the second Dash 4 Cash bonus in New Hampshire.

This Week’s Camaro…This weekend the No. 31 TradeMark Nitro Chevrolet team will utilize chassis TSM-334. TSM-334 has been used twice this season: Daytona International Speedway (7th) and Talladega Superspeedway (5th).

Recapping Kentucky…With a seventh-place qualifying effort at Kentucky Speedway, Allgaier continued his streak of all top-10 starts in his NNS career at Kentucky Speedway. After completing 170 laps of the originally-scheduled 200 because of rain, Allgaier finished 13th in the No. 31 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet for Turner Scott Motorsports. Allgaier moved to third in the NNS Driver Point Standings, just 11 points behind first-place Regan Smith.

Meet Justin…Allgaier will attend the NNS autograph session, along with his Turner Scott Motorsports teammates and other NNS drivers at DIS. The session is on Friday, July 5  from 4:30-5:30 p.m. EDT in the Sprint Fan Zone.

Crew chief Scott Zipadelli on Daytona International Speedway:

“Daytona [International Speedway] is another superspeedway race. Daytona in July is always hot and slick, and we will also be keeping an eye on the weather. We usually have rain at some point during the weekend, so we will have to adjust our plans accordingly. Otherwise, if we are near the front at the end we will have just as good of a shot to win it as anybody else.”

Justin Allgaier on Daytona International Speedway:

“I’m looking forward to Daytona [International Speedway]. It’s a superspeedway and a night race, which always puts on a show for the fans. The first goal is just to be around at the end, which can be very difficult to do at superspeedways. The second goal is to have a good finish and hopefully not any damage to the car.”
