JD Motorsports Finishes 10th at The Monster Mile

Mike Wallace avoided trouble and finished 10th at Dover International Speedway on Saturday, May 14.

The JD Motorsports team left Darlington Raceway with a season best, 15th place finish, and headed into Dover with momentum on their side. From one extreme track to another one, the Monster Mile was certainly going to be a challenge. After battling the rain showers and avoiding a massive crash, Wallace topped his Darlington finish with his first top 10 of the year.

Wallace was 25th quickest in practice with a lap time of 24.150 seconds at a speed of 148.976 MPH. Qualifying was rained out, so Mike Wallace started the race in the 21st position in his No. 01 G&K Services Chevrolet.

After spending most of the day around 20th, Wallace and the JD Motorsports pit crew fought their way towards the top 10 by the end of the race. On the green-white-checkered finish, Wallace navigated through the debris and carnage as the leaders crashed after getting the white flag. After capturing a 10th place finish, Mike Wallace is now 15th in the NASCAR Nationwide Series championship point’s standings
