Going, Going, Gone! Talladega Superspeedway Welcomes Back Fr8Auctions for the Fr8Auctions 250

Talladega Superspeedway is excited to welcome back Fr8Auctions (Freight Auctions), an integrity-based auction that brings together a combination of the best buyers in the Southeast along with the highest quality merchandise, as it will serve as the entitlement sponsor for the Fr8Auctions 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Playoff event on Saturday, Oct. 13.

Fr8Auctions, which served as the official sponsor of Fr8Auctions Qualifying for the GEICO 500 at Talladega this spring, is a business that partners with freight lines, distribution companies and consumer product-based businesses, helping them sell their excess, discontinued or damaged inventory. Fourteen years ago, Fr8Auctions founder and owner Marcus Barela set out to fill a niche for local truckers needing to sell unwanted cargo by coordinating a bi-monthly auction, and now the Atlanta, GA, based company has become the “go to” business solution for companies across America that need to refuel their supply chain and distribution capabilities.

“Talladega Superspeedway has provided Fr8Auctions the best return on investment in track marketing with the Fr8Auctions Qualifying sponsorship in the spring,” Barela said. “We are thrilled to partner again with Talladega for the Fr8Auctions 250!”

The Fr8Auctions 250, set for a noon (CDT) start, will play a pivotal part in the NCWTS Playoffs, which will serve as the final race in the Round of 8 where the field of eligible title contenders will be trimmed from eight to six at the checkered flag. The eight drivers are comprised of Alabama’s own Grant Enfinger (from Fairhope), Justin Haley, Johnny Sauter, Noah Gragson, Brett Moffitt, Matt Crafton, Ben Rhodes and Stewart Friesen. Part-time NCWTS driver Parker Kligerman, the defending Fr8Auctions 250 victor, hopes to be a spoiler in that event and become the first driver in history to win three NCWTS races at the legendary 2.66-mile venue.

Talladega Superspeedway’s doubleheader NASCAR Playoff weekend kicks off on Friday (Oct. 12) with qualifying for the Fr8Auctions 250 at 4:35 p.m. CDT. Saturday’s (Oct. 13) slate includes the running of the Fr8Auctions 250 at noon CDT followed by Foodland/Food Giant Qualifying for the 1000Bulbs.com 500 at 3:35 p.m. CDT. Sunday (Oct.14) will showcase some of the world’s best drivers dueling it out in the 1000Bulbs.com 500, also a key playoff race in NASCAR’s premier series, at 1 p.m. CDT. In addition, Sunday ticket holders can enjoy access to the Saturday Night Infield Concert presented by Wind Creek Casino and Hotel, located in the famous infield, featuring country music artist Chris Janson.
