Famous Martinsville Speedway Hot Dog To Be Sold At Daytona 500

The Famous Martinsville Speedway Hot Dog will be sold during Sunday’s Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway as a result of winning Americrown’s Hot Dog Playoff, a contest where fan votes decided the best hot dog in NASCAR.

The red hot dog with chili, mustard, onions and slaw on a steamed bun, will be sold at the Great American Grill 383 concession stand while supplies last on Sunday, as well as in the Bistro in the infield Fan Zone on Friday.

“People come to Martinsville Speedway for the experience and that includes seeing a great race, being treated like family and enjoying the Famous Martinsville Speedway Hot Dog,” Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell said. “The Martinsville Speedway Hot Dog is about as iconic as the Speedway itself, and to have it voted by fans as the winner of the Hot Dog Playoff and sold at the Daytona 500 is a great honor.”

True to form, the Famous Martinsville Speedway Hot Dog will be sold for $2.

“That’s part of the authenticity of it to sell them at the same price you get them for at Martinsville,” Chef Michael Pappas with Americrown said in reference to the pricing. “It’s certainly appropriate that the Famous Martinsville Speedway Hot Dog won in the first year we had the playoffs. It’s such an iconic food item and to have it at such and iconic race at an iconic venue is going to be a lot of fun.”

The Hot Dog Playoff will return in 2018, voting will start after the July Daytona race.
