Racing Virginia Launches Weekly Podcast on iTunes & RacingVirginia.com

To continue expanding its coverage of racing in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Racing Virginia launched the first episode of the Racing Virginia Podcast (RVP) on iTunes and racingvirginia.com today. The RVP is the latest step in the unprecedented collaboration among Virginia’s motorsports venues to share news and analysis from around the Commonwealth. Long-time Racing Virginia executives Chuck Hall of Larry King Law’s Langley Speedway (Langley) and Dave Seay of Virginia Motor Speedway (VMS) will host the podcast every Thursday throughout the season.

The RVP with Hall and Seay will discuss Virginia tracks, racers, and personalities including previews, recaps, and guests from around the Commonwealth. The podcast will expand on the exclusive news and information delivered daily on RacingVirginia.com. With behind the scenes stories and interviews, the RVP will deliver stories from the personalities at the track to the garage to behind the wheel. The podcast will be available weekly on iTunes and racingvirginia.com.

“Racing Virginia is continually looking for ways to expand its efforts of promoting racing in the Commonwealth, and the launch of the Racing Virginia Podcast is the next step in the platform’s growth,” said Mike Waddell, Richmond Vice President of Marketing & Communication. “It is our goal to continue to highlight the tracks and drivers who are a part of the Racing Virginia community. The Racing Virginia Podcast with Chuck Hall and Dave Seay will bring fans even closer to local tracks and drivers in the state. I look forward to listening to a dedicated broadcast for Racing Virginia discussion all season long.”

Chuck Hall is the long-time promoter at Langley. In 1974, Hall’s professional career started in broadcasting for numerous local radio stations including WSLQ, WPSK, WQBX, and WLRT. In 1995, he joined Langley as the Director of Marketing & Sales before becoming Promoter in 2000-2003. After a five-year return to broadcast media, he came back as Promoter at Langley in 2010.

Dave Seay has been the Director of Sales, Marketing, and Public Relations at VMS since 2002. The veteran motorsports professional has been integral in the growth of the famed dirt track at Jamaica, VA. Before joining VMS, Seay was the announcer at South Boston Speedway, Martinsville Speedway and at special asphalt events up and down the east coast. In 2003, Seay founded Clutch Performance Media, a multimedia company producing original audio and video content for clients. Seay has also hosted several racing talk shows over the years in the Richmond and Tidewater areas.

In April 2017, Racing Virginia launched as a new digital platform, RacingVirginia.com, with the mission to promote racing at the grassroots level along with more than 25 motorsports venues in the Commonwealth. The Racing Virginia platform shares news and information from racing venues from Langley to Lonesome Pine, making it easy for fans to have access to news, schedules, and tickets. Exclusive original content is shared weekly from regular contributors and personalities including Joe Moore, Randy Hallman, and Justin Kern.

A comprehensive master schedule of racing events in the Commonwealth continues to be a one of a kind showcase of motorsports activity in the state. With Virginia racer bio webpages, local drivers have the opportunity, at no cost, to promote themselves, their activity, and most importantly, their sponsors who help them go racing every weekend. Virginia driver webpages will continue to expand in 2018.

Racing Virginia promotes young Virginia athletes in motorsports with Team Racing Virginia (TRV), an initiative to encourage and support young Virginia drivers to seek their NASCAR racing dreams. Grayson Cullather and Chase Butler recently joined inaugural members Chase Burrow, Macy Causey, Zach Lightfoot, and Timmy “Mini” Tyrell as part of TRV. All members of TRV are currently making an indelible impact on the racing scene in the Commonwealth.
