Racing Virginia to Launch Weekly Podcast on iTunes & RacingVirginia.com on January 25, 2018

As Racing Virginia enters its second year, the unprecedented collaboration among Virginia’s motorsports venues is expanding with the Racing Virginia Podcast. Long-time Racing Virginia executives Chuck Hall of Larry King Law’s Langley Speedway (Langley) and Dave Seay of Virginia Motor Speedway (VMS) will host the podcast sharing news and analysis about racing in the Commonwealth. The Racing Virginia Podcast will launch on iTunes and RacingVirginia.com on January 25, 2018 with weekly podcasts every Thursday throughout the season.

The Racing Virginia Podcast with Hall and Seay will discuss Virginia tracks, racers, and personalities including previews, recaps, and guests from around the Commonwealth. The podcast will also expand on the exclusive news and information delivered daily on RacingVirginia.com. With behind the scenes stories and interviews, the Racing Virginia Podcast will deliver stories from the personalities at the track to the garage to behind the wheel.

“Racing Virginia was formed to help grow motorsports at the grassroots level, so this is the next evolution of the platform,” said Mike Waddell, Richmond Vice President of Marketing & Communication. “As we begin the second year of Racing Virginia, our goal is to continue to shine a spotlight on the tracks and athletes impacting the Virginia racing community on a weekly basis. The Racing Virginia Podcast with Chuck Hall and Dave Seay will expand our outstanding content to a new online audience.”

Chuck Hall is the long-time promoter at Langley. In 1974, Hall’s professional career started in broadcasting for numerous local radio stations including WSLQ, WPSK, WQBX, and WLRT. In 1995, he joined Langley as the Director of Marketing & Sales before becoming Promoter in 2000-2003. After a five-year return to broadcast media, he came back as Promoter at Langley in 2010.

Dave Seay has been the Director of Sales, Marketing, and Public Relations at VMS since 2002. The veteran motorsports professional has been integral in the growth of the famed dirt track at Jamaica, VA. Before joining VMS, Seay was the announcer at South Boston Speedway, Martinsville Speedway and at special asphalt events up and down the east coast. In 2003, Seay founded Clutch Performance Media, a multimedia company producing original audio and video content for clients. Seay has also hosted several racing talk shows over the years in the Richmond and Tidewater areas.

In April 2017, Racing Virginia launched as a new digital platform, RacingVirginia.com, with the mission to promote racing at the grassroots level along with more than 25 motorsports venues in the Commonwealth. The Racing Virginia platform shares news and information from racing venues from Langley to Lonesome Pine, making it easy for fans to have access to news, schedules, and tickets. Exclusive original content is shared weekly from regular contributors and personalities including Joe Moore, Randy Hallman, and Justin Kern.

A comprehensive master schedule of racing events in the Commonwealth continues to be a one of a kind showcase of motorsports activity in the state. With Virginia racer bio webpages, local drivers have the opportunity, at no cost, to promote themselves, their activity, and most importantly, their sponsors who help them go racing every weekend. Virginia driver webpages will continue to expand in 2018.

In June 2017, the Racing Virginia platform introduced Team Racing Virginia (TRV) to showcase a group of outstanding young racers poised to be a big part of the future of motorsports. TRV was formed to promote and support the future development of local drivers and race teams under the Racing Virginia platform.

The inaugural class of TRV racers include Chase Burrow, Macy Causey, Zach Lightfoot, and Timmy Tyrell. All members of TRV are from Virginia, under 18 years of age, and compete regularly in the Commonwealth, or in a national touring series. New members of TRV will be announced for 2018

The presenting sponsor of Racing Virginia is “Who’s Your Driver?”, which is a public information and education campaign targeting 21 to 35-year-old male drivers in Virginia. The project is a partnership between DRIVE SMART Virginia, Department of Motor Vehicles’ Highway Safety Office, and Richmond Raceway to encourage people to choose a sober driver and buckle up.

Racing Virginia is active on social media with pages on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. You can LIKE the platform on Facebook at Facebook.com/RacingVirginia, follow on Twitter at Twitter.com/RacingVirginia, and follow on Instagram at Instagram.com/RacingVirginia.
