Season Opener MIS Saturday Night! Supers, Trucks, Sportsman & Pure Stocks

For diehard race fans longing for a dose of RPMs at Mobile International Speedway the wait is over, it’s on Saturday Night!
Owner/Promoter Ida Fields has an incredible line up for Opening Night 2017, including the Southern Super Series competing in the 95KSJ95! PLUS heat and feature races for the Pro-Trucks, Sportsman and Pure Stocks.

The 95KSJ95 will be the only time in 2017 fans can experience the Gulf Coast Double Header with the Super Late Models running on Friday night at 5 Flags and Saturday night at MIS. Plus there will be Bonus Bucks on the line, waiting to be cashed in by the best finishing Super driver at both tracks!

The big guns of Late Model Racing have taken aim at the Gulf Coast this weekend. Kyle Busch development driver Cole Rouse, Dale Earnhardt Jr. development driver Garrett Jones, David Gilliland and his team led by

Chad Purdy plus the hottest driver in Late Model racing Casey Roderick.
Texas and Oklahoma will be well represented with Casey Smith, Chris Davidson and the High Plains Drifter, Donnie Wilson. All previous Winners, Champions and will have their guns loaded for this weekend.

Don’t forget a couple of guys who have taken more home hardware from the Gulf Coast than a Prom Queen on Spring Break, Bubba Pollard and Augie Grill. And then there is 15 year old Connor Owhatshisname looking for a break out night!

So far all the races in the popular Pro-Truck Division at 5 Flags in 2017 have been won by Roush Yates Employee, Colt James playing hookie in Pensacola. James is not scheduled to race this weekend ensuring a first time winner in 2017 in the Trucks.

Alabama Truckers are some of the most experienced drivers in local racing, Chopper Stagner, Jessie Reid, Howard Langham, BJ Leytham and JJ Day are in the double digits in Track Championships and represent over 100 years of racing experience collectively. They’ll have to deal with a strong contingent from Texas.

A pair of Florida drivers have been holding court in the Sportsman Division in 2017 but when the wild bunch returns to MIS expect Alabama drivers Mark Barnhill, “Reddog” Reynolds and Jonathan Langham to defend their home territory at MIS.

While the Florida drivers have been in control in the Sportsman Division, Alabama driver Johnathan Day has been taking names in the newly rebranded Pure Stock Division. With limited opportunities at MIS in 2017 you can bet the rest of the Alabama Gang led by Tommie Blocker, Robert Loper and Chance Imel will be using Saturday night to turn the lights out on Day.

The high powered Super line up is the headliner of a big night of racing at MIS on Saturday including heat and feature races for the Pro Trucks, Sportsman and Pure Stocks. Grandstand pricing is $15, $12 Seniors & Military Kids 6-11 $5 and under 5 free, racing will begin at 7:00.
