Nashville recording artist Kaitlyn Baker added to Food City Race Night events in Knoxville and Bristol

Nashville recording artist Kaitlyn Baker has been added to the lineup for two upcoming Food City Race Night events. Baker, whose debut single “Burn” is being played by a growing number of country radio stations, will perform at the Knoxville Expo Center on Wednesday, August 20, and on Downtown State Street in Bristol on Thursday, August 21.

Food City Race Night, sponsored by Food City Supermarkets, features live music, food and appearances by NASCAR drivers and other special guests. The events are among the largest of their kind, in conjunction with races at any NASCAR venues.

The Knoxville rally, which will take place at the Knoxville Expo Center, is scheduled from 4:00-8:30 p.m., and will include appearances by ESPN’s Dr. Jerry Punch, WATE-TV’s Jillian Mahen and NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Trevor Bayne. Also joining the celebration will be two Medal of Honor recipients, U.S. Army First Lt. Jim Taylor and U.S. Army Sgt. First Class Sammy Davis, who was the inspiration behind “Forrest Gump.” Music will be provided by Cody Shuler & Pine Mountain, with Kaitlyn Baker and her band performing from 7:00-8:00 p.m.

The Bristol rally on August 21st will take place along Downtown State Street, and will include appearances by NASCAR President Mike Helton, legendary former NASCAR driver Richard Petty and drivers Jeff Gordon and Kevin Harvick, among others. U.S. Army First Lt. James L. Taylor and U.S. Army Sgt. First Class Sammy L. Davis will appear again, along with fellow Medal of Honor recipients U.S. Army First Lt. Harold A. Fritz and U.S. Army Cpl. Ronald E. Rosser, as well as Alpine skier, U.S. Army veteran and double-leg amputee Heath Calhoun. Kaitlyn Baker will perform from 3:00-3:45, followed by five-time GRAMMY-nominated bluegrass artist Rhonda Vincent & The Rage.

“I’m a huge NASCAR fan and I love Rhonda Vincent, so I’m really excited that Food City invited me to get involved,” Baker said. “I’m especially looking forward to meeting the veterans and, of course, some of the NASCAR drivers.”

Baker, who is signed to Silvercreek Records, has an album coming out this fall. Her debut single, “Burn,” was recently released to radio stations nationwide. The native of Pound, Virginia, has been performing professionally since the age of 7.
