GoBowling.com Names Richard Petty Grand Marshal, Announces Fan Promotion

GoBowling.com announced today NASCAR Hall of Famer and seven-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Richard Petty will serve as the Grand Marshal for the GoBowling.com 400. The GoBowling.com 400 will mark the 40thanniversary of Pocono Raceway’s inaugural NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, the Purolator 500, won by Petty on August 4, 1974. Additionally, GoBowling.com will host a promotion where one lucky fan could win $43,000 if the No. 43 GoBowling.com Richard Petty Motorsports entry, driven by Aric Almirola, wins the 400-miler at “The Tricky Triangle” on Sunday, August 3.

“This race carries special meaning for me as I think back to the thrill of tasting victory at the inaugural race at Pocono back in 1974. I see no better way to celebrate this milestone moment than by celebrating both racing and bowling, another sport that is pure Americana,” said Richard Petty in today’s GoBowling.com press release. “I am particularly excited to team up again with GoBowling.com and the bowling industry. Bowling isn’t only just a lot of fun but it’s a great sport that, like racing, brings people together and can be enjoyed by people of all ages and from all walks of life.”

The “Win $43,000 if #43 Wins” promotion will take place during the GoBowling.com 400 race weekend at Pocono Raceway August 1-3. Fans attending the race should look for GoBowling.com branded tents in Fan Fair to register to win. Camping guests will receive information on how to enter this promotion in their RV/Camping Welcome Bags upon their arrival next week. One lucky fan will be chosen, at random, to sit atop the No. 43 pit box during a segment the race. Additionally, if the No. 43 car wins the race, one randomly chosen fan will receive $43,000.
