Darlington Raceway set to host annual “A Taste of Darlington” on April 8

A Taste of Darlington will kick off race week at Darlington Raceway with the event being held on Tuesday, April 8, from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm in the track’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garage.

The annual culinary event benefits the Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association (DDRA) and features some of the best cooks in the Darlington area. The event is attended by 500-700 local community members who enjoy good food and beverage, at the annual festivities.

“This event offers some of Darlington County’s best cooks for a celebration of delicious food choices and desserts, said DDRA Manager David Vaughan. “We’re excited that ‘A Taste of Darlington’ will kick off the week’s festivities for the Bojangles’ Southern 500 race weekend on April 12.”

For 30 years, A Taste of Darlington has been a marquee event on the social calendar in the community. This year’s event will feature 18 grillers preparing main courses and over 12 stations featuring hors d’oeuvres and desserts.

A Taste of Darlington is a great opportunity for the community to participate in an exciting and fun event with Darlington Raceway serving as the historic backdrop.

“This is a great way to kick off race week by bringing the local community together to support downtown Darlington revitalization,” Darlington Raceway President Chip Wile said. “We’re more than happy to host this event and celebrate the beginning of an exciting week of activities culminating with the Bojangles’ Southern 500 on April 12!”

Walk-up tickets are available the day of the event for $30 each. The event is only open for guests 21 years of age or older.
