The inaugural UNOH Battle At The Beach will feature unprecedented live flag-to-flag coverage as the showcase event for the NASCAR touring and weekly series Feb. 18-19 at Daytona International Speedway.

SPEED and the Motor Racing Network (MRN) will broadcast the feature races on Monday, Feb. 18 and Tuesday, Feb. 19 from “The World Center of Racing,” beginning at 7 p.m. ET each night. The MRN broadcast will also be streamed live and carried by SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

The two days of competition during Speedweeks will include three non-points special events – featuring the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, the NASCAR Whelen Modified tours and the Late Model division of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. The racing will be contested on a .4-mile oval located on the Superstretch at DIS.

For the first time, – the official site for the touring and weekly series – will host live streaming video of the practice rounds and heat races throughout each day leading up to the main events. Coverage will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday and 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

“From the drop of the green flag Monday morning for the first practice through the checkered flag Tuesday night on the final race, fans across the country and abroad will have an opportunity to follow all of the great short-track action in the first-ever UNOH Battle at the Beach at Daytona International Speedway,” said George Silbermann, NASCAR vice president, regional and touring series. “This one of a kind event features our series’ top drivers, including stars of tomorrow and a host of talented veterans. It’s fitting that as we break new ground with this event, we team with our great partners across television, radio and the internet to provide an unparalleled level of coverage.”

Race winners and series champions from the 2012 season earned locked-in spots into the respective series events. The remaining spots in each of the 34-car fields will be decided through heat races, and a last-chance race if necessary.

A top lineup of motorsports broadcasters will be on hand to call the action from the short-track at Daytona. For SPEED, that lineup includes:

  • Monday: Bob Dillner (play-by-play) and Hermie Sadler (analyst) will be in the booth, with Ray Dunlap as the pit reporter.
  • Tuesday: Mike Joy (play-by-play) and Larry McReynolds (analyst) in the booth for the Whelen Modified race, and Rick Allen (play-by-play) and Phil Parsons (analyst) in the booth for the K&N Pro Series race. Bob Dillner will be the pit reporter for both races.

For MRN, Kyle Rickey and Alex Hayden will be in the booth, with Steve Post covering the action in the turns. Pit reporters will be Woody Cain and Buddy Long.

The heat races, which will set the starting lineups for the evening’s racing, will be voiced by the team from Bob Dillner, Matt Kentfield, Adam Mackey, and Elgin Traylor. The video stream of the practices will be voiced by public address announcer Ken Squier, the legendary NASCAR broadcaster, and Joe Coss, an announcer at Stafford (Conn.) Motor Speedway that has been voted the winner of DIS’s UNOH Battle At The Beach announcer search.

In addition, will debut “Race Central Live powered by,” which will provide real-time updates and photos from the Speed51 staff of reporters and photographers for the entire event.

Autodrome Chaudiere 2012 Inc. is proud to announce that Kyle “Rowdy” Busch will be entering the second leg of the PASS La Quebecoise Triple Crown at Autodrome Chaudière in Vallee-Jonction Quebec on Tuesday, August 6th, 2013. This race will be the second race of the prestigious PASS La Quebecoise Triple Crown at the famed highbank ¼ mile. Busch will be participating in the event, which will undoubtedly be the biggest short track event in the history of the province of Québec, in his #51 Kyle Busch Motorsports Super-Late Model Camry.

Kyle Busch is considered by many to be the best raw talent on the Sprint Cup circuit. Known for his intensity and will to win, Busch is a force to reckon with and a threat to win every Sunday afternoon. His record speaks for itself; 24 Sprint Cup series wins, 51 Nationwide series wins, 30 Camping World truck series wins, along with a Nationwide series championship. These 105 careers wins across the three NASCAR national circuits puts him 3rd on the all-time win list behind Richard Petty (200) and David Pearson (106). Along with these impressive numbers, Rowdy’s resume is stacked with incredible accomplishments such as The Bristol Sweep where he swept all three national series races in the same weekend at the Bristol Motor Speedway. Kyle Busch’s passion for racing is so great that he races Super-Late models during his off weekends and spare time. Busch loves to fend off against the best short track drivers in North America and holds wins in many prestigious Super-Late model races such as the Snowball Derby, The Slinger Nationals and the Winchester 400.

“My favorite type of vehicles to race have always been the Super-Late Models -- they look cool, are fun to drive, and when you put them on a ¼ mile track like Autodrome Chaudiere it always makes for an exciting race,” Busch said. “I try to make it to about five of the more prestigious races around my NASCAR schedule every season -- we run two or three staples for us and then we try to find a couple of new venues to visit. The Canadian fans really support their racing and I know that the new track owners are working hard to make this a big event. I’m really looking forward to my trip to Quebec in August.

The new Owners of Autodrome Chaudiere, Dany Lagacé and Kevin Roberge, are thrilled to have a great star like Kyle Busch at their short track. “When we bought the racetrack this summer Dany and I had a bucket list and I will let you guess what was number one on the list,” Autodrome Chaudiere Vice-President Kevin Roberge said. “To be able to announce today that Kyle Busch will be rolling onto our racetrack in August is an honor and a dream come true.” When discussing the coming of NASCAR star Kyle Busch Dany Lagacé, president of Autodrome Chaudiere, is categorical, “I’ve always said that I want Autodrome Chaudiere to be known as one of the greatest short tracks and having Kyle Busch roll onto the highbank in August will elevate it to the ranks of the greatest.

The race will be held on Tuesday, August 6th, 2013 with a rain date scheduled for Wednesday, August 7th, 2013. Also, an open practice will be held on Monday, August 5th, 2013 for all PASS competitors. The complete event schedule will be announced in the next few months and will include an autograph session and many more activities.

Darrell Wallace Jr. has teamed up with Venturini Motorsports (VMS) to compete in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards series’ season opener next weekend at Daytona International Speedway.

Wallace, a development driver for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) and a former participant in NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity program, will make his first Daytona start behind the wheel of VMS’s No.55 Toyota entry.

“We’re proud to once again be featuring another Gibbs’ development driver in our program. Darrell is one of those natural talents who possess skills far beyond his young age. He’s already proved he can race with the best of them. We’re expecting him to hit the track running and compete for a win at Daytona,” stated Billy Venturini, Director of Competition for Venturini Motorsports.

NASCAR started its Drive for Diversity program in 2004 to help develop minority and women drivers for its top series. The 19-year old, Wallace, drove in the K&N Pro Series East for JGR from 2010 to 2012. In 2010, he earned rookie of the year honors and became that series' youngest driver and the first African-American driver to win a race at Greenville-Pickens Speedway.

While collecting six wins in the K&E Pro Series East while part of NASCAR’s diversity program, he also competed in four NASCAR Nationwide races for JGR in 2012, earning three top-10 finishes and his first-ever pole award at Dover Speedway.

“I’m excited to get down to Daytona and run the No. 55 Toyota for Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA race,” said Wallace. “I know they have great equipment and have helped a lot of talented young drivers gain valuable experience. I appreciate Toyota continuing their support of me and being on board for my first Daytona race.”

Over the weekend JGR announced Darrell Wallace Jr. will drive a full season schedule for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2013. The Mobile, Alabama native will be just the fourth African-American to run a full season in a NASCAR National Series after Wendell Scott, Willy T. Ribbs and Bill Lester.

Look for Wallace to make more history once the green flag drops on the 50th annual Lucas Oil 200 presented by MAVTV American Real which airs live from Daytona International Speedway Saturday, February 16th on SPEED Channel at 4:30 p.m. EST.
