International Speedway Corporation Expands Licensing Deal with Cie Games’ Car Town Streets to include Virtual Race Events on Mobile Devices

“Drivers start your engines!” Cie Games – the makers of Car Town, the world’s leading automotive-based game franchise – expands its licensing deal with International Speedway Corporation (ISC) onto the mobile gaming platform with the launch of virtual race events tied to real-world races in Car Town’s mobile sequel Car Town Streets, which is free-to-play for iOS devices including the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The first event, “Daytona Challenge,” debuts today to celebrate the 55thannual Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 24 and more race competitions to follow.

“We first partnered with NASCAR and ISC for our Facebook game Car Town to huge success and we are excited to extend our partnership onto the mobile platform to reach new and younger audiences,” said Dennis Suggs, president and CEO, Cie Games. “Through our continued partnership, we are able to build brand affinity for the premier stock car racing franchise and organically grow the NASCAR fan base in Car Town Streets through NASCAR’s biggest event, the Daytona 500.”

The in-game “virtual” events will begin the Thursday before the official real-world race day and run for one week. The top players for each race event will receive an exclusive in-game NASCAR racecar that can produce up to 1200 horsepower – the fastest car in the game. In the Daytona Challenge, the top 150,000 players with the most points won will receive a powerful NASCAR racecar, with the first being Dale Earnhardt, Jr.’s National Guard car.

Players can check their standings throughout each event using the Car Town Streets leaderboard. Additional information on future officially licensed virtual in-game events and car prizes driven by the world’s best drivers will be announced as it gets closer to race day.

One of the Top 10 Games on the App Store in multiple countries, Car Town Streets is designed specifically for mobile players and offers a different type of gameplay mechanic from its Facebook predecessor, Car Town. As players find, build, and race with all their favorite cars, form teams and compete in head-to-head race battles, new race challenges and missions will unlock.
