Racing Radios Named GRAND-AM’s Exclusive Radio Communications Service Provider

Racing Radios has been named GRAND-AM Road Racing’s exclusive radio communications provider, GRAND-AM announced today.

The multi-year agreement runs through the 2015 season for GRAND-AM and the unified North American sports car series which begins competition in 2014. In addition to being the exclusive provider for GRAND-AM, Racing Radios will also be available to service all teams in the GRAND-AM paddock.

Racing Radios is the official two-way radio provider for all NASCAR national and touring series, as well as the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron.

“Racing Radios has a long history with both NASCAR and the ALMS,” said Richard Buck, GRAND-AM managing director of competition.  “We look to build on this synergy as we take the next steps toward a unified sports car series.”

Racing Radios was conceived in 1974 when NASCAR’s competition department approached Diversified Electronics for assistance with racing radio communications. Racing Radios was formed as a division of Diversified Electronics in 1979, and was incorporated 10 years later. The company is based in Atlanta, with offices in Atlanta and Mooresville, N.C.
