Atlanta’s Salvatore Iovino set for Debut at Daytona

NASCAR K&N Pro Series competition Salvatore Iovino will strengthen his Motorsports resume in 2019 by competing in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season-opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on Sat., Feb. 9, 2019.

Iovino will join Vizion Motorsports and pilot the No. 36 Toyota Camry in next weekend’s preseason test at the “World Center of Racing” preparing to earn his superspeedway clearance ahead of his highly anticipated ARCA debut next month.

“I’m very excited about this next chapter in my life,” said Iovino. “I have spent the offseason making sure I’m physically and mentally prepared for the challenges and focus that Daytona brings.

“I’m proud to lead the Vizion Motorsports team for the ARCA season opener and hope we can have a successful debut that leads to more ARCA races this year.”

Vizion Motorsports is a female owned race team founded by Jennifer Brown with husband and longtime Motorsports veteran Teddy Brown serving as team manager. The Lucas Oil Driven 200 by General Tire will be the team’s first foray in ARCA competition Body Symmetry, a health and wellness facility that specializes in the fields of medical weight loss, anti-aging and hormone therapy will support Iovino and his team in their Speedweeks efforts.

Last year, Iovino, a native of Los Angeles, Calif. participated in the ARCA Racing Series open test last spring at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway but mechanical setbacks kept him from making his series’ debut. The 35-year-old also has 18 career NASCAR K&N Pro Series starts to his credit in addition to limited starts in Late Models and various pavements and dirt modifieds series.

Prior to stock car competition, Iovino was a frequent competitor in NHRA where he earned multiples championship including the 2016 King of the Hill championship, 2016 Super Pro Class championship, 2015 MSHS championship and 2015 SSHW championship.

In 2016, Iovino won the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Most Popular Driver award and was awarded in 2017 the Community Leader Award in Cobb County, Ga.
