Fred’s Sponsors Todd Gilliland in Crosley 125 at Dover

DGR-Crosley is pleased to announce that Todd Gilliland’s No. 54 Toyota Camry will carry title sponsorship from Fred’s for the Crosley 125 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East finale at Dover International Speedway coming Friday afternoon, Oct. 5.

The event marks Gilliland’s return to the K&N East tour after earning back-to-back K&N West Series titles in 2016 and ’17.

“I’m really excited to get back to the K&N Series as well as have Fred’s on board,” said Gilliland. “It’s always cool to have a company with NASCAR history come on board for not only myself but also DGR-Crosley. Hopefully we can give them a good first impression at Dover and make a long-lasting relationship for the future.”

Tracing its history back to an original store in Coldwater, Mississippi, opened in 1947, today Fred’s, Inc. operates approximately 600 general merchandise and pharmacy stores, including 13 franchised locations and also www.fredsinc.com.

The Fred’s activation at Dover will help set the stage for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Talladega Superspeedway the following weekend. Fred’s will also be the title sponsor on the No. 54 Toyota Tundra at Talladega with Crosley Brands Chairman-CEO Bo LeMastus in the driver’s seat.

With unique store formats and strategies that combine the best elements of a value-focused retailer with a healthcare-focused drug store, Fred’s stores offer frequently purchased items that address the everyday needs of its customers. This includes nationally recognized brands, proprietary Fred’s label products, and a full range of value-priced selections.

The stage is set for the K&N finale at Dover with DGR-Crosley’s Tyler Ankrum having already secured the 2018 K&N East Series championship in the No. 17 Toyota Camry. In addition, the 54 car has clinched the 2018 runner-up owner points for a DGR-Crosley one-two championship sweep.

Gilliland, the 2016 and ’17 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West champion, is the son of Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series veteran driver David Gilliland, who co-owns the DGR-Crosley team with LeMastus. Between the K&N West and East tours, Gilliland has 20 career victories. He currently drives the No. 4 Toyota Tundra full-time for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. He is also the youngest ARCA Racing Series winner in history having won at Toledo Speedway in 2015 just two days past his 15th birthday.

The Crosley 125 at Dover International Speedway will be tape-delayed on NBCSN Thursday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. Eastern. The Crosley 125 will also kick off a big weekend of NASCAR racing at the “Monster Mile” with the Bar Harbor 200 presented by Sea Watch International NASCAR XFINITY Series race following Saturday, Oct. 6. The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series grand finale will wrap it up Sunday afternoon, Oct. 7.
