DGR-Crosley will field a car for NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular Todd Gilliland in the ARCA Racing Series General Tire 150 at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway on Thursday night. Gilliland will pilot the No. 54 Frontline Enterprises Toyota Camry in the teams third ARCA Racing Series race of the 2018 season.
The 18-year-old has two previous ARCA Racing Series starts, both of which occurred in 2015. Gilliland made history in his 2015 debut at Toledo (Ohio) Speedway by becoming the youngest race winner in series history. Although this will be Gilliland’s first time competing in the ARCA Racing Series at a one-and-a-half-mile track, the young driver recently participated in a test at Charlotte Motor Speedway where he set an impressive pace of 29.280 seconds per lap. With a speed of 184.426 mph, Gilliland was nearly three-and-a-half miles per hour faster than the second quickest competitor participating in the open test.
