In an effort to strengthen his asphalt stock car program, officials from AM Racing’s development team Win-Tron Racing announced in a partnership with Rette Jones Racing (RJR) that NASCAR Next alumnus Tyler Dippel will compete in Sunday’s ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards race at Toledo Speedway.
Making his first ARCA start since 2015, Dippel, a full-time NASCAR K&N Pro Series competitor will drive the No. 33 TYCAR Trenchless Technologies / D and A Concrete Contractor Toyota in the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care for his fourth series start.
“This is a cool opportunity for me to take advantage of the weekend off in K&N and return to the ARCA Racing Series at Toledo,” said Dippel. “I appreciate the hard work of AM Racing, Win-Tron Racing and Rette Jones Racing for going to extreme measures to put this program together quickly. I’ve never been to Toledo in an ARCA car, but I’m anxious to get things going.”
Two years ago, Dippel, a native of Wallkill, NY made three ARCA starts for Lira Motorsports providing a career-best finish of fourth at Salem (Ind.) Speedway. With a top-five already on his resume in his most recent race, Dippel is hopeful to pick up where he left off.
“It’s been a while since I’ve been in ARCA, but the cars were a lot of fun to drive,” recalled Dippel. “I raced on two dirt tracks and a short track. We had some momentum with a strong top-five at Salem but then we decided to turn our concentration to K&N. I’m looking forward to seeing what Toledo is all about and hoping for the best on Sunday.”
Dippel’s ARCA return will be overlooked by his K&N East owner Mark Rette, a fixture in the ARCA Racing Series for the past decade. In 2009, Rette led Justin Lofton to the ARCA Racing Series championship for Eddie Sharp Racing.
Grooming young natural talent is nothing new to Rette, but he’s looking forward to having a presence back in ARCA this weekend with Dippel at a track he’s been successful in the past and with a driver he knows is eager to get up on the wheel.
“Running this weekend at Toledo is bound to help our K&N program,” said Rette who co-owns Rette Jones Racing with fellow ARCA and NASCAR driver Terry Jones. “We’re looking to get as much seat time for Tyler as possible on asphalt. The partnership with Kevin (Cywinski) of Win-Tron Racing makes sense and hopefully we can have two strong finishes with Tyler and Gus (Dean, No. 32 Toyota).”
Dippel’s K&N Pro Series East marketing partners D and A Concrete Contractor and TYCAR Trenchless Technologies will adorn his No. 33 Toyota Camry for Sunday’s fifth race of the season.
After five races on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East tour, Dippel has earned a season-best finish of fifth at Greenville-Pickens (S.C.) Speedway in April and currently ranks 10th in the championship standings.

The Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care (200 laps / 100 miles) is the fifth of 20 races on the 2017 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. Practice begins Sat., May 20 with an hour and a half practice session planned from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. General Tire pole qualifying is set for later in the day at 4:00 p.m. The race is set to take the green flag the following day on May 21 shortly after 2:00 p.m. The event will be same-day taped delayed on FS1 (FOX Sports 1) at 5:00 p.m., while ARCARacing.com will stream live timing and scoring throughout the weekend’s activities.
