Greg Edwards Untouchable in Langley Speedway Reopening

Over a year after the track fell silent in 2015 for what many thought would be the final time the gates swung open fans packed the stands and racing resumed in Hampton Roads.

Nick Smith taking the pole in the 100 lap late model feature to round out the first night in racings return to Langley.

With just five laps in the books Hampton native and outside pole sitter Greg Edwards would get around Smith for the lead.

Connor Hall would bring out the first caution of the night with a spin followed by Macy Causey for the second and final caution of the night just prior to 25 laps completed.

With the green flag back in the air following the second caution of the night Edwards would get a clean jump on the restart over brother Danny Edwards setting sail out front of the field leaving them in his dust.

Edwards would remain untouchable for the remainder of the night and take home the checkered flag in the Pomoco Opening Night at The Races late model victory at Langley Speedway over Justin T. Carroll with a margin of victory of 7.7 seconds followed by Mark Wertz, Matt Waltz and pole sitter Nick Smith rounding out the top five.

“I’m so proud to be back at Langley Speedway we started it where we ended it” Said Edwards
