Mason Mingus Set for ARCA Return at Salem with Mason Mitchell Motorsports

Former ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards driver Mason Mingus will return to the series this weekend at the Salem Speedway driving for Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM).  Mingus will have support from Kentucky811 as well as Team Construction on the No. 98 Chevrolet.

After nearly a three-year hiatus from the series, Mingus returns to his favorite track on the ARCA schedule.

“Salem is probably the most physically and mentally demanding track on the ARCA schedule, which is why it is always such an entertaining race for the fans,” Mingus stated. “It’s a very tough race track because it is so worn out and also such a high speed race track. There is very little grip and tires fall off very quick so you have to constantly be saving your tires.”

Saturday marks the 100th ARCA race at the famous high-banked half-mile track located in Salem, Indiana. ARCA’s history at the track dates back to its first race in 1955.

“Salem means a lot to me, it’s where I won my first Late Model race. I am very excited to partner up with MMM for the 100th ARCA race at Salem. MMM has had a lot of success at Salem in the past and I think together we will have a great run and hopefully pick up a Win.”

Mingus finished runner-up in ARCA points in his only full-season in 2013. The Brentwood, Tennessee native earned two poles, five top-five finishes and earned 18 top-ten’s in 21 starts. His best finish is second three times (Talladega, Toledo and Berlin).

Mingus spent the last two season racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. He earned a career best finish of third at the Talladega Superspeedway last October.

Chassis Information: Mingus will pilot chassis No. 589 out of the MMM stable. The chassis last raced one week ago to a sixth place finish with Mason Mitchell behind the wheel. The chassis has 15 starts earning two wins (Iowa, Springfield), 11 top-five’s, and 13 top-ten finishes.
