Grant Enfinger Battles for A Strong Eighth Place Finish at Iowa Speedway

Grant Enfinger, driver of the No. 23 Allegiant Travel / Triple-K Construction Chevrolet Impala earned an eighth-place result in the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) presented by Menards #ThisIsMySpeedway 150. Enfinger qualified in the fifth position earlier in the day during Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell. Racing solidly in the top-five, the Fairhope Ala., native battled lack of side bite and overall grip throughout the 159-lap event. After a restart on lap 132, Enfinger made contact with the wall in turn four and dropped back into the 13th position as a caution came out. Crew chief Kelly Kovski called Enfinger to pit road to take four tires, a track bar adjustment to help loose handling conditions and to repair the damage. Enfinger beat the pace car off pit road to start in the 13th position and battled hard to the eighth position. The race ended after two green-white-checkered restarts, with Enfinger piloting the No. 23 Allegiant Travel / Triple-K Construction Chevrolet Impala to an eighth-place finish.

“It’s not the finish we all wanted but I am extremely proud of my GMS Racing crew for all of their hard work tonight. We were lacking side bite and overall grip throughout the race,” stated Enfinger. “I think we had the speed; it was just too free in the balance. A Positive outlook is we are bringing home a car in one piece and a top-10 finish. Thank you to Allegiant Travel, Triple-K Construction, WURTH U.S.A and Portable Shade for all of your support.”

Heading into Lucas Oil (Ind.) Speedway next weekend, Enfinger still holds the points lead.
