This week the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) will compete at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia in the Great Clips 300 to benefit Feed the Children on Saturday. With 10 series events remaining, Kyle Busch returns to the seat of the No. 54 Toyota Camry, one that has seen victory lane four times this year, including seven pole positions and 19 top-five finishes in 23 races.
Kyle Busch has enjoyed much success over his Nationwide Series career, recording 66 victories, the most of any driver. While he has visited victory lane at most Nationwide Series tracks on the circuit, the Atlanta Motor Speedway is one that has eluded the 2009 series champion. In 10 series starts on the 1.54-mile oval, between 2003 and 2013, the young veteran has obtained an all-time record-high four poles, six top-five and seven top-10 finishes, recording a high-finishing position of second-place five times. Busch’s statistics include 530 laps led, the most of any competitor in the series on this track. Needless to say, being a ‘bridesmaid’ is good, but Busch hopes this week’s return to Georgia makes him and the No. 54 team, a ‘bride’ once more.
