Earnhardt goes on the road

Jeffrey Earnhardt will be looking to improve on his run at Road America last season when the Nationwide Series tour rolls into the Wisconsin track for Saturday’s Gardner Denver 200.

Earnhardt finished 26th in last year’s Nationwide race at the four-mile road course. He was on the lead lap at the checkered flag.

“Road-course racing is pretty new to me, but I like it,” Earnhardt said. “It didn’t take me long to get used to the track there. I’m thinking we can give it a much better run this year.”

Earnhardt’s No. 4 Chevrolet will carry sponsorship this week from Lake Forest Hearing as the driver and team put an emphasis on hearing protection at the track.

Saturday’s race is the first of three road-course tests for the Nationwide circuit this season.

Earnhardt sits 16th in Nationwide driver points entering the race.
