For the second consecutive race, Dakoda Armstrong will make his first start at a track on the NASCAR circuit. With no previous experience at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway, Armstrong will look to veteran Crew Chief Philippe Lopez and the No. 43 WinField team for guidance.
The team had a strong showing at the .75-mile track with one top-five and three top-10 finishes in just four starts. Lopez will be bringing his favorite chassis to the track this weekend. Chassis No. 743 has proved successful on the short tracks since the team’s inception three years ago.
Another first for @DakodaArmstrong, he’ll make his first @NASCAR start at @RIRinsider this weekend.
For the second consecutive race, @Dakoda Armstrong will make his first @NASCAR start at a track. This weekend, it will be @Richmond International Raceway. Out of four @NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at the .75-mile track, RPM has one top-five and three top-10 finishes.
“Richmond is another track that I’ve never been to. I’ve heard it’s fun and a little tricky, but one good thing is that Philippe (Lopez) and the team have run well there in the past. They have the baseline figured out, so it will be about going there and turning laps and getting used to the track. The race starts during the day and ends at night so the track will change throughout the race, and they’ve always been the strongest at the end of the race.”
