This weekend the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will head off to Daytona International Speedway for two days of testing action to prepare for the 56th annual Daytona 500. Currently a total of 41 drivers are scheduled to participate in the event.

Some of those drivers include: Rusty Wallace, Austin Dillon, Michael Annett, Mark Martin, Trevor Bayne, Cole Whitt, Parker Kligerman, Reed Sorenson, Brian Scott, Kyle Larson, Justin Allgaier, Alex Bowman, Ryan Truex and Brian Keselowski.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will be on the track Thursday and Friday from 9-12 p.m. Et. and 1-5 p.m. Et. Both afternoon sessions will be televised live on Fox Sports 1. No coverage will be offered during the both morning sessions.

Darrell Waltrip, Larry McReynolds and Mike Joy will be in the booth during the live telecasts on Fox Sports 1. Bob Dillner and Matt Yocum will bring you coverage from the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garage area.

Brad Keselowski drove to a victory last evening in the NASCAR Nationwide Series season finale by leading 25 of the 200 scheduled laps. Keselowski captured his seventh race win of the year in the series for his 10th top-10 finish this year. It also became his 27th win in 205 starts. By this win last night, Keselowski gave Ford the manufactures championship in the NNS.

"“It was just good racing. We were going to have a shot to win it without taking tires but it was going to be difficult," said Keselowski. "The 32 was awesome, he ran a great race today. That late race restart was key. We came in and put tires on with 20 to go and that yellow was out for 14 or 15 laps and I didn’t think we were going to have a shot at it but we got the right restart and made our way through. I am going to have to watch the in car camera because that was one hell of a ride for 10 laps. Be glad there wasn’t a passenger with me because they would have been screaming the whole way, I know I was.”

Kyle Larson had a strong run last night by coming home in the second spot. Larson led the most laps of the Ford EcoBoost 200 of 54. By finishing in the second position last night he earned his 17th top-10 finish of 2013. Larson also captured the Sunoco Rookie of the Year after a great season in the No. 32 Chevrolet. He earned 9 top-fives and 17 top-10 finishes in 2013.

Kyle Busch had a strong night last night as well behind the wheel of the No. 54 Toyota by leading 29 laps of the event. Kyle did not get the finish he wanted though as the No. 22 Ford finished two positions behind them. Last night he posted his sixth top-10 finish in seven total starts at the 1.5-mile Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Austin Dillon came home in the 12th position after an up and down evening but was just enough to capture the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series championship. He won by just three points over Sam Hornish, Jr. and became the first driver to do so without winning a race. Last season Dillon won the NASCAR Nationwide Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year award. He also did the same thing in 2010 and 2011 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

With Logano's finish of sixth in the No. 22, he earned Roger Penske the owner points championship by edging out just one point in front of Joe Gibbs Racing's No. 54 Toyota.

The next race for the NASCAR Nationwide Series will be in three months at the Daytona International Speedway.

Tonight on Fox Sports One just after the conclusion of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series finale had a discussion on if Jimmie Johnson is an athlete?

McNabb said on the Fox Sports Live program that he (Johnson) is not an athlete because he sits in a race car and drives and that doesn’t make you athletic.

In early August, Johnson went and did a 50-mile bike ride the day before competing in a 400-mile race during the Pocono weekend. Johnson has also competed in many Triathlon and marathons throughout the season to help get through the high demanding races.

In a recent USA Today interview with Nate Ryan, Johnson said he tries to get in at least 30 to 40 miles a week. Johnson also told USA Today that he completed a triathlon in an Olympic-distance with a time of 2 hours, 17 minutes.

McNabb raked five-time championship winner third on the list with Tiger Woods and Kobe Bryant.

Johnson is on track for his sixth career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship this weekend going into the final race with a 28 point lead over Matt Kenseth. This season, he has three poles, six wins, 16 top-fives and 23 top-10 finishes.

Many drivers like Kyle Larson had some tweets on McNabb's comments about race car drivers: "Donovan McNabb is a moron." 

Reed Sorenson: "I don't think I have ever been this mad at someone. @JimmieJohnson is in better shape than @DonovanMcNabb."

Many of the pit crew members in NASCAR or other forms of racing are x-college football players.

Former NBA basketball player Shaquille O'Neal raced Dale Earnhardt, Jr. for his ABC show Shaq Vs. One in the Charlotte area and said it was the toughest three hours of his life. 

Kyle Busch drove to a victory tonight at the Homestead-Miami Speedway after holding onto the lead in three G-W-C attempts to finish the final race of the 2013 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season. He led a total of 62 of the 148 laps that made up the total distance in the wild action packed race. Tonight was Kyle’s fifth win of the season for his ninth top-10 finish to go on and capture the owner points championship by tying Rhonda Thorson with the No. 88.

Ryan Blaney posted a second place finish to earn the 2013 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year award. He became the youngest driver to win that title. Blaney led a total of 67 laps this evening to lead the most laps of the event tonight. He finished out the year earning one win, eight top-fives, 13 top-10s and two poles.

Jeb Burton came home in the third spot this evening after an up and down run all race long. Jeb will finish out the year earning one win, five top-fives, 11 top-10s, and seven poles.

Matt Crafton seals his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship after earning one win, seven top-fives and 19 top-10s this year. Though, Crafton did not get the finish he wanted this evening after he was involved in a wreck late in the race to finish in the 21st position to lose the owner championship. Crafton did go on to complete 100% of the total laps this year.

Next race for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will be in late February of 2014 at Daytona International Speedway.

This weekend the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series heads off to Homestead-Miami Speedway for the season finale. This weekend’s entry list features 38 drivers with many interesting faces. Cale Gale is the defending race winner.

The entry list includes Austin Dillon, J.J. Yeley, Nelson Piquet, Jr., Frank Kimmel, Ross Chastain, Spencer Gallagher, Jeff Agnew, Ben Kennedy, Cale Gale, Mason Mingus, Brad Riethmeyer, B.J. McLeod, D.J. Kennington, Travis Kvapil and Chad McCumbee.

Two drivers will go home following qualifying today afternoon. The 13 drivers that must get in on time include Austin Dillon, Jennifer Jo Cobb, Frank Kimmel, Spencer Gallagher, Jeff Agnew, Ben Kennedy, Cale Gale, Ron Hornaday, Chris Jones, Brad Riethmeyer, B.J. McLeod and Travis Kvapil.

Matt Crafton has pretty much locked up the drivers championship, but he still has to hold off Kyle Busch to earn ThorSport Racing a owner championship. With Kyle Busch Motorsports win last week at Phoenix, they have closed the owner point championship down to 23 points. To capture both, he will have to pull a 18th or better finish. Thorsport could become the first team to ever hold the points lead for the whole season.

"We're looking forward to taking the green flag and getting one of those championships out of the way," Crafton said. "But we're going to Homestead trying to win a race, no different than we've done any of the other 21 weeks this season. We're focused on that and if we do our jobs the owners' title will be where it belongs this season.

Jimmy Weller III will make his fifth start of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this evening in the No. 81 Toyota. Tonight will mark the teams 313th consecutive start in the series for SS Green Light Racing.

Kyle Busch captured the pole for today’s 15th annual ServiceMaster 200 at Phoenix International Raceway with a time of 26.982 seconds, 133.422 mph. Kyle captured his 10th career NASCAR Nationwide Series pole this year for his 20th top-10 start in 2013.

Austin Dillon found himself second on the time sheet when the session ended with a time of 26.987 seconds, 133.398 mph. The series points leader will make his 27th top-10 start of 2013 today at Phoenix Raceway. Dillon was just 0.005 seconds off of the pole.

Kevin Harvick ended up third on the leaderboard after running a lap of 27.011 seconds, 133.279 mph. He qualified into the top-10 for his seventh time in 2013 and his 16th at the Phoenix Raceway.

Larson was the highest qualifying rookie in the 13th position with a lap time of 27.289 seconds, 131.921 mph.

Two drivers will go home as 42 cars attempted to qualify for the race. Those two drivers will be Morgan Shepherd and Dexter Stacey. Derrike Cope was the very first car out on the track in qualifying and crashed hard into the wall. Team does not have a backup car of their own, but will get one from another team.

Jimmie Johnson won the pole yesterday afternoon for tomorrow’s 26th annual AdvoCare 500 with a fast time of 25.858 seconds, 139.222 mph. on his qualifying run. He also broke the track record that was set last year by Kyle Busch. Johnson was also the fastest yesterday in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Practice session.

“New track records are awesome.  I don’t qualify on pole all that often so I take great pride in them; especially track records," said Johnson. "It’s a very cool of a deal.  It’s clearly at a great time in the season with the Chase and all that. We have a great pit pick and track position to start the race with.  Now we just need to be able to maintain that and make the right decisions during the race to keep track position.”

Denny Hamlin was second on the speed chart with a 25.895 seconds, 139.023 mph. He will make his 19th start inside the top-10 this season tomorrow at the Phoenix Raceway and his eighth at this track. Hamlin was just 0.037 seconds off of the pole time.

“Honestly, we didn’t get to spend that much time in qualifying because we were so bad when we unloaded," said Hamlin. "We made some
huge strides to it. Every qualifying run we made we got a lot faster and obviously this is a testament to the adjustments we
made, and everything was obviously a whole lot better. Proud of that effort. I don’t think it will hold up for the pole, but I
think it will stand up for what I think will be a top-five position for us.”

Joey Logano posted the third fastest time on the board of the afternoon with a fast lap of 25.910 seconds, 138.942 mph. He will roll off in the top-10 for his 18th time this year in 2013. Logano was fifth on the board in practice.

“Yeah, I thought the lap was OK.  I didn’t think it was spectacular, but it’s gonna be a decent starting spot," said Logano. "There are still a lot of fast cars to go, so we’ll see where we end up here.  Hopefully, it hangs in the top five and we get a good starting spot for this Shell/Pennzoil Ford.”

Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. was the highest qualifying rookie of the afternoon in the 27th spot.

This weekend the NASCAR Nationwide Series will head off to the Phoenix International Speedway for the 15th annual ServiceMaster 200 for race number 32 of the 33 scheduled races this season. The entry list currently features a total of 42 drivers.

Fresh faces you’ll see tomorrow include Daryl Harr, Ryan Reed, Drew Herring, Timmy Hill, Kelly Admiraal, Kevin Harvick, Chad Hackenbracht, Ryan Blaney, Jamie Dick, Derrike Cope, Mike Harmon, Jeffery Earnhardt and Kevin Swindell.

Currently twelve drivers will have to qualify tomorrow in on speed with two of those going home. Those drivers are: Blake Koch, Jeff Green, Ryan Reed, Matt Kenseth, Josh Wise, Ryan Blaney, Joey Gase, Jamie Dick, Mike Harmon, Morgan Shepherd, Dexter Stacey and Kevin Swindell.

Austin Dillon goes into Phoenix this weekend with a six point lead over second place Sam Hornish, Jr. with two races remaining. Qualifying will be key for both drivers as the last two races the pole sitter has went on to win the race.

"I like flat tracks. New Hampshire Motor Speedway is an example of a flat track where I feel like I have been successful in the past, and I feel like Phoenix International Raceway has some similar characteristics so I am looking forward to this weekend," said Dillon. "I think the repave has changed the dynamics of the racing a little bit, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's a handling race track where it's very important to work on your car and make sure it's right for the race. Phoenix International Raceway is a place where getting off of each corner is very big. Entry is important. You need to be stable but you need to be the first one to the gas."

Rookie Kyle Larson still looks for that first win in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. With his success on short tracks this season, it is possible for him to capture that win tomorrow. This March, he went on to a 13th place finish.

"I really enjoy racing at Phoenix, and I know that it's one of my team's favorite tracks too," said Larson. "[Crew chief] Trent [Owens] ran really well here last fall with Kasey [Kahne] in the car, and I finished second in the Truck Series race, so hopefully we can continue that this year. We've had a lot of success with this chassis, so I'm excited to see what we can do during the race."

If Ford is able to grab a win tomorrow, they could clinch the NASCAR Nationwide Series manufacture championship.

This weekend the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will head off to Phoenix International Raceway for the 19th annual Lucas Oil 150. Tonight will mark race 21 of the 22 scheduled events of the 2013 season. The entry list currently features 36 unique drivers scheduled to race tonight.

Some fresh faces include Dj Kennington, Daniel Hemric, Steve Smith, Ross Chastain, John Hunter Nemechek, Cale Gale, Mason Mingus, Chad Frewaldt, Erik Jones, Chris Jones, Chase Elliott and Steve Wallace.

Only 36 drivers are scheduled to qualify tonight so no drivers will go home.

Matt Crafton goes into tonight’s race leading the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points standings by 46 points over James Buescher. If Matt can come out of Phoenix Raceway with a 49-plus point lead, he will clinch the championship. It will also be his first NASCAR national series championship if he wins it this year.

"I'll say it every week until the season's done because nothing ever changes with this race team and our record shows it," Crafton said. "We'll unload at Phoenix prepared to win the race and that's all we'll look at. At the same time, we'll keep trying to make smart decisions. And it's a given that my guys at ThorSport never give up, as they proved at Texas."

Toyota can clinch the manufactures championship if they can come out of Phoenix with third place point standings or better.

Darrell Wallace, Jr. comes into Phoenix with strong momentum after a seventh place finish last Friday at Texas. He currently leads Ryan Blaney by one point in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings going into tonight. After winning at Martinsville two weeks ago, Wallace joined rookies Jeb Burton and Ryan Blaney with at least a win this year.

“I’m excited to head to Phoenix this weekend. It’s another new track for me in the No. 54 Toyota Tundra, but we still have momentum on our side and I’m confident we will have another strong run this weekend," said Darrell Wallace, Jr. "Phoenix is a track where we can actually drive it and don’t have to depend on the air that much so I’m looking forward to that. Hopefully we can get us another top-10 finish and be the top finishing Rookie for the fifth race in a row.”

With two races remaining this season in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, two drivers go into Phoenix with a shot to win this year’s title. Those drivers to watch in the next two races are Sam Hornish, Jr. and Austin Dillon.

Both drivers currently separate each other by six total points in the standings. Sam Hornish, Jr. has one win this season to benefit him if they happen to tie next week. Austin Dillon continues to look for his first win this season.

Austin Dillon will make his fifth start on Saturday afternoon at the one mile Phoenix Raceway. In four starts, he has captured three top-10 finishes. In his first ever start there, he started in the 35th position and went on to a 34th place finish in 2009. Austin will run the same chassis he ran at Phoenix, Richmond, and New Hampshire earlier this season that drove him to a sixth-place finish back here in March.

Sam Hornish, Jr. goes into one of his best tracks this weekend. It is the site where he captured his first career NASCAR and also his first career INDYCAR win at. After making six Nationwide Series starts, he has earned three top-10s and only one top-five finish.

Even though Phoenix could be considered his best track, he still has a hurdle to go over this weekend with his past finishes all over the place. This race last season he finished in the 14th spot and in seventh in March.

Both drivers will make Saturday’s ServiceMaster 200 very interesting this weekend as they battle it out for a championship. With both drivers being successful at Phoenix, it will be hard to predict on what will happen between the two.
