Traxxas Returns to KBM as Primary Sponsor on No. 18 Toyota

Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) announced today that Traxxas, the leading manufacturer of hobby-class radio-controlled (R/C) vehicles, will return as a sponsor of its No. 18 Toyota Tundra for three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races in 2011 – May 13 at Dover International Speedway, Aug. 20 at Michigan International Speedway and November 4 at Texas Motor Speedway – with driver-owner Kyle Busch behind the wheel for each event.

The partnership has proved to be a perfect fit on and off the track. Busch, an R/C enthusiast, was three-for-three in races sponsored by the Plano, Texas-based company in 2010, winning the Truck Series races at Chicagoland Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway.

To celebrate the perfect season, in February Traxxas released the Kyle Busch edition No. 18 Slash Model R/C Truck which is currently available on both the Traxxas (www.traxxas.com) and Rowdy Busch (www.rowdybusch.com) online stores. On May 25, the company will launch their officially licensed 1/16 scale R/C replica of Busch’s No. 18 Traxxas Toyota Tundra.

“To have Traxxas launch both a Kyle Busch edition of their award-winning Slash model and an officially licensed replica of my No. 18 Traxxas Toyota Tundra is quite an honor,” said Busch. “I grew up an R/C vehicle enthusiast and even worked in a hobby store as a teenager. When I’m not involved in something related to my NASCAR racing, you can usually find me doing something with my R/C vehicles. Whether it’s racing them competitively, racing fans at a Traxxas appearance or just driving my Kyle Busch Slash Model to relieve some stress at the track, it continues to be my favorite hobby.”

“Our partnership got off to a great start in 2010 and we’re excited to have them back this season,” Busch continued. “Not many sponsors can say that they’ve won every race and I look forward to trying to keep the winning streak alive in our first Traxxas-sponsored race next week at Dover.”

“Traxxas is very excited to continue our partnership with Kyle and Kyle Busch Motorsports in 2011” said Traxxas president Mike Jenkins. “After winning three-for-three in 2010 while flying Traxxas colors and then going on to take the 2010 owners’ championship, Kyle’s determination to win fits our company’s high-performance culture to a tee. Kyle’s long-time passion for radio controlled racing shines through as he continues to put the spotlight on the fun and excitement of the R/C hobby and the unsurpassed performance of our top-selling Traxxas line of products. We are looking forward to another great season with Kyle as a part of the Traxxas family.”
