Joey Coulter to Kyle Busch Motorsports team in 2013

Joey Coulter, who won his first Camping World Truck Series race this season at Pocono Raceway in August, announced on Tuesday that he will be driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports next year.

Details on the number he’ll be running and his sponsorship package will be announced at a later date.

Coulter currently ranks fifth in the 2012 Truck Series driver point standings and is tied for the series lead with three poles. The 22-year-old driver picked up his first career Truck Series win at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway in August and has collected six top-five and 13 top-five finishes in 20 starts this season.

“To say that I am excited about the opportunity to drive for KBM would be an understatement,” Coulter said in a statement released by the team. “Kyle Busch is a driver that I have always had a lot of respect for and looked up to because of his raw talent.

“To say that I am excited about the opportunity to drive for KBM would be an understatement,” Coulter expressed. “Kyle Busch is a driver that I have always had a lot of respect for and looked up to because of his raw talent.

Since I was 8 years old, winning races and championships in one of NASCAR’s top three series has been a dream and a goal of mine — I feel that joining KBM gives me a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to accomplish those goals. They are a team that has a winning attitude and have proven numerous times that they are capable of getting to victory lane. It is an honor to be given the chance to bring them their first driver championship.”
