Contreras Motorsports Ready for the Second Race of the Season at Atlanta Motor Speedway

Contreras Motorsports is ready for the second race of the season, this time with the support of local gas station, RaceTrac.

The experienced Hispanic driver, Carlos Contreras, will be behind the wheel for the Great Clips 200, which will be held this upcoming Saturday February 27 at 4:30 PM ET.

The local sponsor that will be on board the no. 71 truck, is a chain of gas stations and convenience stores based in Atlanta, Georgia. RaceTrac is currently in more than 600 locations, primarily in southeastern United States.

Carlos Contreras, driver and co-owner of the team said: “After a long weekend of learning at Daytona, we come to Atlanta with the objective of making the race. The NCWTS field grew a lot from last year, which makes it really complicated for new teams like us to secure a spot for the race. I am very confident that it will be a good weekend because the whole team has been working very hard on the truck. This race is very important for Contreras Motorsports because our sponsor, RaceTrac, is based in Georgia. Atlanta Motor Speedway is a very difficult track because it is very fast and very technical, any mistake can cost you the race.”

Contreras Motorsports is committed to improve the performance shown in Daytona and repeat the results demonstrated during last week’s practice sessions. Tim Andrews, crew chief of the RaceTrac no. 71 Silverado, prepares his strategy to meet this commitment.

The first Mexican team in any of NASCAR’s national series has been well received by the Hispanic media and community, who can identify with the project and the struggle to constantly improve.

The no. 71 Silverado will have RaceTrac’s traditional colors this weekend, red white and blue. The second round of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will consist of three practice sessions that will be held on Friday, while qualifying and race will be held on Saturday. Race weekend sessions can be seen on Fox Sports 3 in Latin America and Fox Sports 1 in the United States.
