NCWTS: Jones Closes Final Practice as the Fastest

Erik Jones led the one and only NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice on Saturday at the Gateway Motorsports Park. Jones fastest lap came on his 49th trip around the 1.25-mile oval. The Michigan native comes into the weekend looking to capture his first win of the season.

Cole Custer finished in the runner-up spot right behind Jones with a time of 32.945 seconds, 136.591 mph. Custer has some momentum coming into the track after capturing the pole last season. The 17-year old will make his third start of the season on Saturday.

Matt Crafton rounded out the top three in practice. Crafton posted a time of 32.948 seconds, 136.579 mph. Crafton comes into the weekend leading the series points standings by 25 over Tyler Reddick.

The practice got halted only once for debris spotted on the track.

Erik Jones was the only driver who turned a 10-lap average of 133.843 mph.
